He was the first employee in Eastern India to set up the business operation for TaeguTec India where he worked for 4 years. Besides this he was also the first employee in Eastern India for Bose Corporation where he worked for more than a decade. He also worked with Johnson Control before opening his venture. It is registered with Registrar of Companies, Kolkata and recognised startup from Government of India it was started up with the aim to enhance business revenue using various technologies and giving the customer a clear picture of the return on his investment. Presently there are many areas where no data is evolving to empower customers to make the right kind of investment decisions in marketing or promoting their products or solutions. Oorjamatic Technologies have a 360-degree approach to empower customers not to miss a single opportunity to gather data and it works on a couple of technologies. We use these technologies to create disruptions, changing the way people do few things presently and while changing it we provide concrete data to our clients. These data help our clients to plan well for the future. We make marketing campaigns ROI driven. On inquiring from where did the idea to start something like OORJAMATIC TECHNOLOGIES came from and requesting him to tell us about his background and his journey as entrepreneur, Mr Raja Guha apprised that ; I was on a lookout for a new thing which people are not aware of and the only reaction which people will give hearing the disruption which we will make is –Wow! We wanted to change a few things which people in India were doing. It may sound very simple but it has an impact. Hence we started to work with three technologies and develop applications using them to change the things we do presently. Innovation is what we focus on and makes simple disruptions with a very high impact on what and how we do. I have a personal work experience of 20+ years with various organizations with global repute after completing my engineering. I completed my executive MBA within the first 6 years of working. I was the first employee in eastern India to set up the business operation for TaeguTec India for which I worked for 4 years and also the first employee in eastern India for Bose Corporation for whom I worked for more than a decade. My last job was with Johnson Control. I was in the domain of sales and my success in sales always motivated me to do on my own. So whenever I was in front of my customers I always kept in mind that someday I will start my own venture and then they will be my asset. Hence till now, I have personal relations going with most of my key customers with whom I had come in contact during my days as a salaried person. Over Commit and under-delivery was anabsolute NO in my personal philosophy. Hence I could and continue to maintain excellent relations with my customers. Even if I cannot provide them a solutiononly be cause that, not my domain, I redirect them to specialists/organizations from where they couldget their solutions. Oorjamatic Technologies LLP was incorporated on 13th December 2017 and it works on a couple of technologies. We use these technologies to create disruptions, changing the way people do few things presently and while changing it we provide concrete data to our clients. These data help our clients to plan well for the future. We make marketing campaigns ROI driven. Being an entrepreneur is a totally different game altogether. You suddenly have to change the total mindset and you are within your comfort zone. But the capability to adapt to the change through learning, planning, networking is key to success. The applications which we have developed issuing few technologies are so new and have such a huge range of applications across sectors that covering the entire market segment is a huge challenge for a startup. So we are finding various innovative ways to cover the market. But we are always keeping in mind that we should expand till we can support the customer. Hence we are cautious yet aggressive in our minds. On enquiring from him about the choosing entrepreneurship over job, Mr Raja Guha narrated that; “I wanted to come out of the comfort zone, the glamour of the corporate world, five star stays, and so on. I was waiting for the right moment to quit the job. Hence came out of a job in November 2017. As I was always a customer-centric person, I was confident that I will be supported by my customers whom I have gained during my salaried days”. Entrepreneurship gives you the freedom to think out of the box, create your own strategies, and grow your own organization. Now I am free to implement my ideas and strategies and define my own goals and work towards them. I would love to use the learnings during my salaried days and use it to create jobs, offer new solutions, and create an impact on what and how we do. How do you find the industry/niche that you’re in? Mr Raja Guha explains that; It provides huge opportunities ranging from healthcare to Retail, Transport to Sports. It has applications in every domain and sector. The imagination and creativity is the only limit for the application which we provide. In the post-COVID 19 days, it will be more significant as it will avoid a touch. Our applications can generate data from apparel to bottles, posters to standys, and many many more. It gives people a tool to take the right kind of marketing decisions. On inquiring about what gets him out of bed in the morning i.e. what’s his source of motivation ?, Mr.Raja Guha explains that ; I am extremely passionate about what I do. I don’t feel the passion, usually I don’t do that or become unsuccessful. To me every day is a new day, a new beginning, and can be a game-changer. On inquiring about what challenges/obstacles did you face in your journey so far? Mr Raja Guha apprised us that; The most and only obvious challenge is to manage the cash flow of the organization especially when we don’t have an investor on board. We from the first day had been focusing on customer acquisition rather than moving behind an investor. Besides this another challenge is to find the right kind of manpower with the right attitude who will have learning capability, right skill set, and customer-centric skills. Besides many don’t want to join a startup as they are not sure whether it will be a revenue-generating one. Hence it becomes very important for the founders to strive hard to make the organization and success. On inquiring about the uniqueness of his startup OORJAMATIC TECHNOLOGIES, Mr Raja Guha explained that; Our start-up is aimed at enhancing business revenue using various technologies and giving the customer a clear picture of the return on his investment. Presently there are many areas where no data is evolving to empower customers to take the right kind of investment decisions in marketing or promoting their products or solutions. We have a 360-degree approach to empower customers not to miss a single opportunity to gather data. It can be from 3-4 cm from a promotion campaign to 200 meters. It can generate data from a bottle to apparel, from a standy to a poster, and so on. Innovative consumer engagement strategy clubbed with technology is a very powerful tool and we do that. Stress at work is an increasingly common feature of modern life, however on enquiring from Mr Raja Guha about how he handles the pressure and manages stress, he explains that; I don’t hesitate to reach out to my friends or industry senior seeking help and guidance. In the initial days due to the change of habit, cash flow there is bound to be stress. Reaching out to your friends, seniors help to reduce stress. Winston Churchill rightly said that if you have five friends whom you can count on five fingers then our life is made. This proves to be very true in the initial days of entrepreneurship. Another thing is to have confidence in yourself and speak to yourself. If one is successful in the past cannot be a straight failure. Recount my success stories about how I acquired difficult accounts and continued to manage them. On enquiring about the strategy that he believes has helped him grow as a person/startup, Mr Raja Guha narrated about the parameters responsible for developing it; I have always believed in developing my personal brand image. It is the most important parameter as it plays an important role to ascertain as to how one is perceived by others. The perception is the reality and it plays a role in where you can be successful or not. Your personal brand image is responsible to know how much help you can get from others. Getting and seeking help in the early days of entrepreneurship is not bad at all as during that time one’s mind is clogged with too many ideas and challenges. Hence help is required. Developing customized solutions having a huge impact backed by the right kind of policies to support customers is another important parameter for a start-up to be successful. Start-ups cannot afford to over commit and under deliver to earn revenue. If that happens then the startup will not go too far as it will develop a wrong perception in the market. It is important to remember that a product or a brand cannot talk or move. It depends on the qualities and perception of the person who represents it and the person represents the organization. Hence Personal brand image clubbed with company policies are key to success. On inquiring about his opinion about “the keys to success”, he explains that ; The key to success will be to have patience and to have self-confidence. Start-up is like a newborn baby and it has to go through the steps to be a consistent and formidable organization in days ahead. One should keep in mind the short and long time implication of any decision one is taking. One should revisit the drawing boards to review if we are going wrong anywhere and its implication. Success doesn’t come overnight and easy. One thing is constant in every scenario. That is the capability to learn and be flexible and adaptable. What advice would you give to someone starting out as an aspiring entrepreneur? Any aspiring entrepreneur should consider taking any action, decision, keeping in mind that at one point he or she aspires to be one in the future. Creating your personal brand image-based one four pillars like Respect, Integrity, Knowledge,Passion is of utmost importance from Day1. One should develop the networking skill not limited to his or her own domain but across sectors as it will be key to success during days of entrepreneurship. Last but not least, educational qualification is not the only parameter for being successful. One should rigorously work in a job and then should start his or her own venture. Only Money, Only Knowledge, or Only Contact will not help. It has to be a perfect blend depending on individuals. Our journey started way back in 2006, this was a time period when we were very young and open to trying out new ideas, get fresh perspectives about the business world and see how far we could make our impact. What we noticed was that although affiliate marketing was a huge thing in the global market, it was still at a nascent stage in our country. In fact, during those times, several brands did not even accept Indians as someone with whom they could foster business partnerships. Witnessing this for ourselves, we thought that yes, this industry does seem to have upside potential and we can fill the underlying gap present in the Indian market if we act with the right approach. Now, when I look back and compare the ‘then’ and ‘now’, all I can say is that though we have accomplished much, we are still on the tip of the iceberg. As an organization, we still have a long way to go, learn many new things, maybe even fail at a few of them, however, in the end, come out victorious. Perhaps, this is how I like it. I don’t like to stop, I always keep looking for better and more substantial opportunities, challenges and everything in between that helps us forge ahead. Why did you choose entrepreneurship over a job? To be honest, during my whole journey from being a content writer to becoming the CEO of vCommission, I would say that I’ve surprised myself not just once but many times over. For instance, I didn’t think that I could ever do sales, or maybe manage such a huge team of people with such efficiency. But then again, it was the journey that taught me, and I feel only gratitude that it did. For me, everything zeroes down to two things. The first being highly aspirational and the second being that I as a person have always been very open to learning new things and experiment. These two factors have played an instrumental role for me to chase bigger goals in life and pour all my energies to achieve what I really wanted for myself. What gets you out of bed in the morning i.e. what’s your source of motivation? A fairly good question. I would say that the mindset to achieve day on day and lead our company to new heights of success is what keeps me going. At the same time, this is something that also keeps me grounded and hustle harder than others. Because, in the end, it is all about the ability to act decisively when the situation demands so! This is something that has made all the difference in my eventful journey as an entrepreneur. What challenges/obstacles did you face in your journey so far? To this, I would say that ups and downs are an integral part of anyone’s journey so as in my journey too, and I acknowledge that they have been a part of our journey as well or maybe I would even say that they have acted as the steppingstones to achieve greater success. However, I feel myself pretty confident that with our team, I will be able to eventually sail through any difficulty and come out victorious. What comes first for you - money or emotions? Although these two things usually don’t align with each other, I have seen that if mixed in the right proportions with a business-oriented approach, it can work wonders for any organization. I would even say that as any business is an entity in itself, it needs to have emotions, not personal, obviously, but business-oriented things like concern for quality deliverables, client satisfaction, targets & roadmaps we plan & how to achieve them, etc. Money is obviously the priority but on the personal front, I believe if your value creation process is right for your clients as well as your team, the money will automatically come as a byproduct of it. How do you handle the pressure and manage stress? I personally feel that spirituality is something that can change anyone’s life for the good and give it a better course of action. From the last 450 days or so I have not missed out on a single day of my meditation. It helps me remain calm, chase goals with greater efficiency and clarity of thought. Secondly, delegating work to my associates takes a great amount of stress off my shoulders. So, I would say meditation and my team are the two foremost factors that help me handle pressure and manage stress in a very effective way. What is one strategy that you believe has helped you grow as a person/startup? I would say that my keen eye to identify opportunities and act swiftly upon them has been one of the major things which have helped me grow as a person. In your opinion what are the keys to success? I would say that to be persistent in your approach and never give up on what you truly believe in. Yes, this is especially for all the aspirational young people who want to excel in their careers. They need to understand that there is no such thing as overnight success. For anything good to happen, you need to give it time and work on it with a growth mindset. What advice would you give to someone starting out as an aspiring entrepreneur? Any aspiring entrepreneur should always remember that nothing is done overnight, satisfaction does not come overnight. You need to preserve; there is no second option for that. Secondly, especially aspiring entrepreneurs who want to start up, should always have a learning attitude towards everything. And if you feel confident and motivated enough that you must do it then you should do it. There is no age, no gender, no degree required to take the plunge. To this, I would also add that do not focus on money initially, rather go for value creation and creating something sustainable. • Interview with Paras Gaur, Co-Founder of Mobinet Media

Mr. Gaur apprised that their strategic knowledge and keen understanding of advertising tools gave voice to their work. < All Interviews Paras Gaur Co-Founder Entrepreneur VictoryTales with its objective to strive and grope vigorously to bring some of the meaningful and powerful stories from around the world to empower and motivate our growing community of entrepreneurs, this time we are introducing Mr. Paras Gaur Co-Founder at Mobinet Media (www.tuttler.com). With their propriety product "tuttler", a one-stop destination that engages potential customers across multiple channels by hiring technology to study and evaluate the user experience and design strategy that help your brand acquire customers. We gel up the positive user experience, and technology, with advertising strategies, to create a personalized experience to convert your target audience into customers and realize desired goals. Besides this, Mobile User Fingerprinting Technology is the next generation Digital solution with analytics-driven user experience, intelligence-based decision automation, and a highly scalable mobile-first approach. The goal is to develop a user identification system for mobile devices, which can be used as the fingerprint system to help developers and brands to create a highly scalable model. Mr. Gaur apprised that their strategic knowledge and keen understanding of advertising tools gave voice to their work as he believes that these two eminent qualities they have, actually work in acquiring customers and engagements. Share this Interview: Know more about Mobinet Media Where did the idea to start something like this come from? Please also talk us through your background and your journey as an entrepreneur; It was a very impromptu decision to start this business. The plan kicked off during a coffee meeting with our co-founder Akhilesh. Over the period of time we kept pivoting the company to meet the requirements of the industry. But in the initial phase we just jumped right into it and were mostly innovating and improvising. Why did you choose entrepreneurship over a job? I don’t think entrepreneurship is any different from a job and I never chose anything differently. I am doing a job just like any other person out there. Bookish definition apart - I think any person doing their job with passion and is self-driven, has a never give up attitude - is an entrepreneur. In that sense, I have always been an entrepreneur. How do you find the industry/niche that you’re in? The media and advertising industry are shifting at a rapid speed and digital is not far behind. In fact, I think it is starting to take charge. Its unique selling point, or USP, is that it is a blend of both advertising and technology. That is what sets it apart. AdTech is constantly redefining itself. Be it AI or Identity management. We believe that there is an increasing demand for independent technology platforms such as ours and we have a very important role to play. What’s your source of motivation? I am a human being too. I need to use the bathroom. Just kidding… My motivation comes from my mental to-do list. I think the most unfortunate person is one who doesn’t have a task list. Most of us crib about a long to-do list. I on the other hand get motivated by that. When I know I have a long day ahead of me filled with meetings, con-calls, discussions, and decision making ahead of me, I get my daily dose of excitement. What challenges/obstacles did you face in your journey so far? I tend to keep a record of my success stories and moreover how I overcame my challenges. Obstacles and challenges are a part of everyone’s life. Some are big and some are small. But what is most important is to remember what to do next. Specifically speaking, in my journey so far, the biggest challenge has been my age. Many find it hard to believe that a person my age is doing the job I do. Many have voiced it out and told me on my face that I am too young to know any better. I call it the gray hair syndrome. I am sure many millennials out there face this bias. But I mostly just keep doing what I am good at and slowly people realize that maybe older doesn’t always have to mean wiser. Tell us about the uniqueness of your startup, please; Our goal while building “tuttler” was to develop a user identification system for mobile devices, which can be used as the digital fingerprint system. Through various cookie policies in mobile web browsers, we have developed a ‘Mobile Tracking with cookie-less mobile device user identification system’. We did this with the help of our machine learning and artificial intelligence. We are one of the market leaders in the mobile advertising space in the country as tuttler. Mobile User Fingerprinting technology is the next generation Digital solution with analytics-driven user experience, intelligence-based decision automation, and a highly scalable mobile-first approach. How do you handle the pressure and manage stress? I am not someone who gets bogged down very easily. But a huge credit does go to my family. Talking to them helps me blow off my steam. I am also an avid runner and love gardening during my free time. Hobbies help me cope. What is one strategy that you believe has helped you grow as a person/startup? As you know Strategy is a high-level plan to achieve one or more goals under conditions of uncertainty but I believe that “Hard work and Smart work" has helped me grow as a successful person. In your opinion what are the keys to success? Before anything else, preparation is the key to success for any recipe and In my opinion, success is a recipe of three things - “hard work, good analytical skills, and most importantly – faith”. What advice would you give to someone starting out as an aspiring entrepreneur? On enquiring about what advice would you give to someone starting out as an aspiring entrepreneur, Mr. Gaur replied that “If I could sum up the term advice in a few words- achievement, accomplishment, and getting positive results this would be the mantra for aspiring entrepreneurs. Besides this - Never give up. Keep on learning and developing. Don’t be scared to evolve. This is only I can advise someone starting out as an aspiring entrepreneur. As I narrated earlier, it was my father’s dream that I should work for Yahya Book Depot and that is the reason that I choose this entrepreneurship over a job which I was doing earlier. What gets you out of bed in the morning i.e. what’s your source of motivation? Regarding my source of motivation, I would like to share that I am always fond of figuring out something niche or new, which may create a proposition for me and the public at large. I usually keep this mode on all the times which I learned with my upbringing, and it serves the source of my motivation all the time. By GOD grace, I have been able to do that as well, where either has created it or worked on something related to it. Also, I am currently in the process of developing something niche on these lines and I believe that I will surely achieve one day which I dreamt of. During this COVID-19 crisis, what are the measures you have undertaken to continue your business without disruption? During the COVID-19 crisis, each measure we have taken to ensure that the model aligns with the challenges of the pandemic. Since our business model consists of a lean team which is not resource-heavy and has minimal overheads. Our freelancer model ensures each and every work can be handled remotely, where we don’t need to do physical meetings and, every aspect of our business is online and tech-enabled to ensure automation as much as possible. What challenges/obstacles did you face in your journey so far? About the challenges or obstacles, as you know Every business has risks. Our business model too has risks which are associated with a right skillset that we look for expansion in future. We already have a core niche team, but I see from future expansion perspective, we would need innovative minds, with the flexible thought process. Although, with a clearly defined process, and innovative means to reach out to search resource, we are confident enough that we will mitigate it. What comes first for you - money or emotions? I am an emotional one. Since business needs to have emotions, not personal, obviously, but business ones like concern for quality deliverables, client satisfaction, targets & roadmaps, you planned & how you will achieve it, etc. Money is obviously the priority, but I believe if your value creation process is right for others, money will automatically come as an outcome of it. How do you handle the pressure and manage stress? About handling the pressure and managing stress, I would say that I have successfully carried out Pre IPO advisory for a government undertaking under the supervision of great mentors I have. It was a challenging task as the sector for which we were executing it, was bit a complicated one. Even, parallel hired consultants were not that much effective as compared to our work and Organisation fired them. But due to the continuous trust of my immediate supervisor in me, I have been able to carry out successfully. So stress and pressure are the parallel happening in every business so as in ours too but we handle it to proceed further growth of our company. What is one strategy that you believe has helped you grow as a person/start-up? In my journey so far what has helped me immensely is the lean methodology. As you know lean methodology is through a way of optimizing the people, resources, effort, and energy of our organization toward creating value for the customer. We see it on two guiding tenets, continuous improvement and respect for people. So, I can say Lean methodology is the one strategy that I believe has helped me grow as an entrepreneur. In your opinion what are the keys to success? In my opinion the key to my success is Communication and trust which are the two most important things and to achieve it, one need to empower his team and give them the resources they need to succeed. There are a few instances, and you can learn it on your way while into the business. As long as you have growth-oriented mind set it is not a problem for any one, I believe. What advice would you give to someone starting out as an aspiring entrepreneur? I always work on a tag line ‘Add Value to Get Value’. Do not focus primarily on money or investments but keep your focus on creating a sustainable venture & value creation. I believe, rest things will automatically set with time. Also, if you are starting up a venture, feel free to reach out to us. You will find us a great partner or mentor to you with innovative means. The company is also donating many sports products to the primary schools of villages. On inquiring from where did the idea to start something like Aromatic & Allied Chemicals came from and requesting him to tell us about his background and his journey as entrepreneur, Mr Gaurav Mittal apprised that ; Since I was involved with the experiences of my father in the field of Natural essential oils, I always have been smelling the fragrance when my father used to come back home from his farms. Generally my father used to smell fresh tones of lemongrass and rosy tones of Palmarosa with surroundings of menthol. It was a mixture of all these smells that I experienced in my childhood. My father, knowing the future of this natural essential oil industry and my passion for perfumery started developing my skills in the same field. In order to get this streamlined from the start, all was well planned and I did my bachelors and master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from one of the most reputed institutes of India. Thereafter, I pursued my Master’s degree in Perfumery from ISIPCA, France – the only institute giving the best perfumers of the world. After carrying out my another master’s degree from France, I did Masters in Business Management in Aroma Technology from Plymouth University, UK All the above qualifications made me get into the world of Perfumery and I then started my first job with International Fragrance and Flavors in Dubai, Holland and France. After a few years I then shifted my job to Givaudan (which is the world’s biggest F&F house) and within a few months got selected to be trained in Givaudan Perfumery School in Paris which evolves the world’s best perfumers. Unfortunately during my training period in France, I lost my father and then I have to come back leaving my dreams and passion for perfumery. After coming back to India, I took over my family business ‘Aromatic And Allied Chemicals’ (established in the year 1977) which was involved in farming of Aromatic Crops and production of Pure Essential OIls. However the shock of losing dreams , passion and father really shattered my life and thought of giving up. But what kept me alive in perfumery was the smell of the Natural Essential Oils and it has always been coming in my mind to kick start something new. I then started exploring different parts of India and numerous aromatic crops. With the help of Scientific institutes, I started helping farmers to grow different aromatic crops and extracting essential oils from the same. Using those natural essential oils, I started making the natural blends and finally was able to convert my passion for perfumery into a beautiful composition in the form of a Natural Perfume. The pure Essential Oils that we were extracting also helped me to get into the world market. This is how I am finally very happy to be the Owner of Aromatic And Allied Chemicals where I am keeping my passion alive and also helping my farmers and their families with many works and their requirements. On enquiring from him about the choosing entrepreneurship over job, Mr Gaurav Mittal narrated that; To choose entrepreneurship over a job, I think was the need of the hour and as I told you, I was a Trainee Perfumer with Givaudan Perfumery School in Paris, France in 2010 before shifting to India after the sad demise of my father Shri Brijesh Mittal. I have seen my father in raising this Business since my childhood and was fortunate enough that I attained the best qualifications available in this field and carried forward my family business for which I am being brought up. What was your key driving force to become an entrepreneur? Mr Gaurav said that; The Key driving force was the social work that my father was involved in. My father was associated with more than 5000 farmer families for whom he was actively working and helping them to meet their needs. When I came back from France to complete the rituals of my father, those poor farmers and their families forced my mind to leave my luxurious job and come back to India and support them. This is from where I started exploring farming & then cultivating the numerous aromatic crops with those farmers and became a successful entrepreneur. Now we are one of the leading producers & exporters of Organic Essential Oil & Natural Essential Oils of India. On enquiring How many hours a day do you work on average? He explains that; You see being an entrepreneur and a social worker you need to struggle hard to find appropriate working hours but normally I am working almost 12 hours minimum to forward the venture at new heights and using around 06(six) hours sleep to attain energy besides slipping almost for 04 (four) hours for workout. On enquiring about the uniqueness of his company - Aromatic & Allied Chemicals? Gaurav apprised that; Aromatic & Allied Chemicals i.e AAC is certainly unique in the field of Natural and Organic Oils to Fragrances in the world. It is now exporting a wide range of products from Natural Essentials Oil and Organic Certified Essential Oils to Fragrances in the world market. Now, AAC is the only company in India, having projects which are GMO FREE Certified & Fair Trade Certified – thus assuring the oils we are manufacturing are free from any modification and adulteration and also we are following the International standards of Fair Trade and Fair for Life giving equality to all. Mr.Bhavin Gandhi, Director of Infintrix Global Pvt Ltd started his company InfintrixGlobal after acquiring a lot of work experience in various jobs/positions in Mumbai and Singapore. An IT consultant with big dreams got an opportunity to work in Singapore in the year 2006. Mr. Bhavin Gandhi volunteered at TiE Singapore for undertaking events & that’s when his quest for venturing into the entrepreneurship world started taking shape. It is believed that God gives an opportunity to everyone. Those who accept offers get everything in life and those who miss the opportunity or as is generally said, those who miss the train, wait for the next opportunity. Mr. Bhavin caught the train at the right time and started his own IT Consulting Company “InfintrixGlobal.” The present trend is that most of the IT personnel want to move out of their homeland in search of opportunities for jobs/comforts but Mr. Bhavin didn’t miss the opportunity to work on his own and that too in his home city, Mumbai and he didn’t think much & just jumped on the opportunity. Share this Interview: Know more about Infintrix Global Pvt. Ltd. InfintrixGlobal is a leading Software & Apps Development Company offering comprehensive IT solutions across the globe. InfintrixGlobal offers custom software & app development, website and e-commerce development, IT training, IT consultancy, offshore IT outsourcing, digital marketing, creative design services, IoT & Infrastructure solutions globally. An ISO 9001:2015 certified company with more than 7 years of a strong foothold in Asia & the Middle East. The company also caters to diverse clientele & industries ranging from BFSI, Education, Manufacturing to E/M-Commerce. On inquiring from where did the idea to start something like “InfintrixGlobal” came from and requesting him to tell us about his background and his journey as an entrepreneur, Mr. Bhavin Gandhi apprised that; My background is in IT Consulting; post my first job in Mumbai, I got an opportunity to work in Singapore in 2006, and being a young guy having big dreams, I grabbed the offer. I worked in a job in Singapore until 2010. While I was working, I always wondered how it would be to run my own business. In Singapore, I got in touch with TiE Singapore (The Indus Entrepreneurs) which is a non-profit organization dedicated to entrepreneurship & it has many chapters across the world. I got an opportunity to volunteer at TiE Singapore for undertaking events & that’s when my quest for venturing into the entrepreneurship world really started taking shape. In 2011, while I was still working in Singapore, I got an opportunity to work on a really interesting project in Mumbai & that’s when I decided it was time to come back to India and start my own business and that’s how Infintrix Global Pvt Ltd, my company was born. On inquiring from him about the choosing entrepreneurship over a job, Mr.Bhavin Gandhi apprise that; Well it was not about choosing one over the other. I had a stable and well-paying job in Singapore & a very comfortable lifestyle. It was just that I saw an opportunity to work on my own and that too in my home city, Mumbai and I didn’t think much & just jumped on the opportunity. How do you find the industry/niche that you’re in? My background like I mentioned is in the IT Consulting space especially in the Banking Treasury. So my target clients are banks and financial institutions. I have been working in this industry since I started my job. So there was not really any other industry that I know of or have been working on. Except that now as part of our company offerings and verticals, we do have diversifications across other industries. But if you talk about a niche, Banking Treasury space is my forte. What gets you out of bed in the morning i.e. what’s your source of motivation? I feel my source of motivation is “Technology” which is an amazing thing and the industry that I am in changes rapidly every now and then. Besides this the biggest source of motivation for me is to invent or provide the best technological solutions available so the standard of living/business of my clients, partners, and employees is improved. What challenges/obstacles did you face in your journey so far? Competition is one thing that is part and parcel of any business especially in the kind of business I am in. In any country, there are always people who compete on the basis of price and that really pulls down the whole business dynamics. So that is one challenge that we have to constantly work around with. Another one is of course – attrition. IT as an industry has the highest attrition rates as there are lots of opportunities available in the market. So keeping our people motivated to come every day smiling and work for us is a challenge but we’ve managed to figure that out so far. On inquiring about the uniqueness of his startup, Mr Bhavin Gandhi explains that ; Well technically, we are not a startup anymore. Although we started off as a pureplay IT Treasury Consulting player which is a niche business in itself with very few players providing the kind of service we do. The biggest remedy to handle pressure is to anticipate it as part of your daily life and not be bothered by it. Although meditation and listening to motivational talks can help you ease out stress. I normally stick to a routine when it comes to my daily schedule which includes exercise, meditation and listening to some motivational / business podcasts which keeps me sane in spite of pressures and stress. On enquiring about the strategy that he believes has helped him grow as a person/startup, Mr. Bhavin Gandhi narrated about the parameters responsible for developing it; Gratitude is something that can always keep you grounded and not let success go into your head. I have practiced and am still practicing gratitude to Almighty, my family, my employees, my clients and partners, and everyone who has given some contribution to my life or my company in any which way. This has been my mantra all along. I truly believe life is all about thanking people and giving back. As they say, what goes around comes around – and I stand by it. In your opinion what are the keys to success? I believe that the keys to success must have three words i.e Humility, Perseverance & Honesty. The Humility to accept that our way may be better, the perseverance with the technique requires dedication and the Honesty which we have in ourselves. On asking Mr. Bhavin what advice would you give to someone starting out as an aspiring entrepreneur? As per the company’s commitment to its customers that their chips are 60% less fat compared to fried potato chips, with high-quality Sunflower oil used for garnishing. Where did the idea to start something like this come from? Please also talk us through your background and your journey as an entrepreneur; Actually, the journey started when Ankur Jain, co-founder at Bira met me at Reliance Retail where he joined under my tutelage for training. I was mentoring him for the Rural Business Hub model wherein we had a great time as we hit it off. Then Ankur left to pursue his own business interests and I later joined Lavazza and Barista as the Brand Integration Manager for Italy. Whilst at Lavazza almost after a span of 5 years I left to join Ankur in his business interests. I was in touch with him. In meanwhile, Ankur had been concentrating on his business interest and was pursuing the beer game relying solely on imports from Belgium, US, and Spain. Anuj who was Ankurs batch mate at school also joined up after returning from a stint at UBS in London. Thus our journey at Bira began. Why did you choose entrepreneurship over a job? Having been at the helm of affairs in Coca Cola, ITC, Bausch & Lomb, and then Lavazza I was getting bored and waylaid in my professional world, a sort of cocooned existence. But for want of a break, an opportunity and the like to change the status quo of life as I continued to toil in the inane large corporation marketing guided by SOPs and best practices with market integration. There was nothing to look forward to in this mundane 24X7 existence. But as the saying goes luck is opportunity + patience + divine intervention, Ankur called me one day in my Lavazza stint and told me to chuck all this and try to do something which will have my footprint and stamp. Sounded exciting, challenging, and differentiated and therefore I opted for it and now I can never aspire to do a regular job. What was your key driving force to become an entrepreneur? Three factors will always play a full-frontal role in entrepreneurship: constant challenges, yearning to go for the unreachable, and quenching your thirst to create something new out of the ordinary. These are the guiding principles that, according to me, should always accompany your thought process. However, the big umbrella factor always is: Fire In The Belly. These are the key drivers What’s your source of motivation? One key takeaway from our ancient spiritual knowledge and the wisdom that they gave us is the constant yearning to look ‘inside’ instead of ‘outside’. By this I mean you will have to discover that force, the spirit inside your own self to egg yourself on in this journey Motivation is a driving force that runs on the fuel of passion, Knowledge, and ability to look beyond. Anyone & anybody can be an entrepreneur provided he or she can imbibe these 3 principles inside one’s self. Though you need externalities then’ fortune favors the brave’. How many hours a day do you work on average? Time management is a myth and oft used word which has become the fashion to denote how industrious one can be. If you can skillfully assign time/job matrices to something on the line of Steven Covey’s, you can make things easier. I usually devote 10 hours a day at the max and try to mix business with pleasure i.e taking time out on some weekends. What is the uniqueness of your startup? The game-changing word is Disruption which motivates the Consumer packaged Goods space. Uniqueness depends on many factors: business category, the segment in that category, the competition in that category, the current players, not in that order though. What you have to look for is uncontested space, unmet needs for the category consumers, and the current offerings. Once that is done then you devise a price positioning matrix that gives you the open spaces to work on. For eg. In the case of BRB chips, we found white spaces in some unique offerings as compared to the mundane chips which have been going on for some time, no product differentiation, and value-added for the consumers. How do you handle the pressure and manage stress? I am reminded of a line in the movie Border: “Zindagi ka doosra naam problem hai”. Therefore pressures and linked stresses that are part and parcel of a daily work living Managing it is both, easy and difficult in a startup: Easier part : First being clear of your work duties, your deliverables, and communication flow. For instance, have daily morning meetings to resolve interdepartmental issues, any differences, and the usual flow. The basic step is to remove irritants and friction The difficult part is of interpersonal dynamics of the co-founders, expectations that can crop up linked to some new issue and financials How do you generate new ideas? Generation of new ideas is a more strategic part of the business It is usually done amongst the co-founders and which is obviously reliant on some key learnings that one has found lately, some new insight form our consumers and inputs form our own team New ideas primarily should result in new product development or some key messaging or distribution issues or facilitating business in a better cost-effective manner Therefore to sum up we need to generate new ideas to increase our value for the consumer, reach and distribution and the need to bring in cost effectiveness How did you come up with the name of your company? The name was more of a brain wave which one of our co-founders came up with one day in the morning to name it Forbidden Foods. It is linked to many facets: of course the first is the fruit as per the Bible signifying the need to break the molds of good and evil, next comes the work Forbidden which means that we are part of the angst of the youth(primarily our target is years 15 -25) and this age group loves to play anti-institution i.e thinking against the current wave. BRB was our take on this kind of a product type and brand as a result of this thinking and is actually an acronym: Be Right Back This relies on the prevalent SMS lingo in the current generation, the pointer towards taking any time, anywhere, and anyhow to break what you are doing and take a break. Just relive the moments with BRB and it is like a pause to taste and reflect on things around you What piece of advice would you give to college graduates who want to become entrepreneurs? Well, it is a mindset. Our current education brings about pressures, forcible competition, and expectations that are asynchronous with the current situation. Therefore there is no urge to ‘create’ but to ‘conform’ However, to inculcate that feeling of creating something out of our daily mundane existence is the key. We have to find our hidden talents, our passion, and the desire to seek something in life that not only creates a source of income but is also sustainable and creates opportunities for others. Because it is in giving that you receive. Having said that there are a lot of externalities that govern our world but the trick is to escape these and carve your own space. As Chief of Strategy, I bring together a range of Management ideas to singularity in structure for execution. It is easy for me because I am good at it. Why did you choose entrepreneurship over a job? I choose entrepreneurship because it does not challenge my terms. Even though I have been in jobs earlier in my career where my Superiors were exceptional Leaders, perhaps that’s where I learned that there is a stark difference between a Leader and a Follower – the right Leader creates and develops more Leaders. That is what I feel I can do and presently am doing. On a lighter note, alternatively if I continued as a subordinate, I would most certainly fire my own Boss. What gets you out of bed in the morning i.e. what’s your source of motivation? Frankly speaking I am inspired, not merely motivated. I am inspired by the purpose I am set out to achieve. This is what keeps the fire in my belly burning endlessly. My purpose, on a larger spectrum, is to bring positive change to individuals and masses. I am constantly working on it and feeling motivated all the time. During this COVID-19 crisis, what are the measures you have undertaken to continue your business without disruption? As the business began during the COVID-19 crisis, each measure is taken to ensure that the model aligns with the challenges of the pandemic. We are structuring the unstructured market of Drip and Dry Services – which has been welcome by businesses and households during the pandemic. What challenges/obstacles did you face in your journey so far? As you know, every business has risks. Our risks are associated with a right skillset that we look for to facilitate expansion. We already have a Core Team, moreover I see from future expansion perspectives that we would need multi-skilled employees, with flexible thought processes/adaptability and employees that dream big with a desire to develop and grow professionally. With a clearly defined process and existing skills in the Team, we are confident enough that we will mitigate the challenges. What comes first for you - money or emotions? None comes first I think. I can sleep with my money wallet left open. I believe that if your value creation process is right for others, money will automatically come as an outcome of it. How do you handle the pressure and manage stress? When you become an expert at a subject, pressure does not arise. I manage stress, however, by soul searching through Fine Art, I bring to the surface all deep routed stresses and mitigate it through abstract expressionism. What is one strategy that you believe has helped you grow as a person/startup? The one strategy that I believe has helped me grow are 2 D's i.e DREAM and DO. I believe in dreaming and executing by doing it. In your opinion what are the keys to success? Follow your passion and everything else like power, fame and money will follow you. This is the key of success for me. What advice would you give to someone starting out as an aspiring entrepreneur? Dream Big and Go for it – do not worry about what people would do and speak.
