I was always fascinated by pottery and basically, I am always fascinated by well-presented tablescapes. PotteryDen was born through my real urge of creating the bridge between traditional and trendy tableware and most importantly inclined to have an eco-friendly sustainable product line. I wanted products that can be used from morning tea to special occasions to sit down at the dining table. On inquiring from Ms. Archana Deshpande, why has she chosen to become an entrepreneur over a job? she apprised that; I made the decision of entrepreneurship when I had a good substantial amount of experience with the passage of time and it was a big plus on my side in making this bold decision. I always wished and wanted to work from home so it will help us as a family to sell a bit easier in India. I believe that entrepreneurship gives you that flexibility to work according to your wish and a set routine line. As an Entrepreneur you get to do so many things from scratch and seeing your venture grow is a totally out of the world joy to experience. On asking about her source of motivation, Ms Archana expressed that; My source of motivation is my client’s appreciation because from day one they have appreciated PoeryDen’s products so much, so it makes us do beer every day. Our clients understood and valued the intention behind the PotterDen collection product line and the importance of pure clay, hand-painted, and hand-textured pieces. Every day our clients motivate us so much to make beer designs, textures, and functional pottery pieces. How many hours a day do you work on average to bring such beautiful clay utensils? I do work around 8-10 hours a day but my working hours are normally flexible so I could manage my other priorities as well. When you are an Entrepreneur you can not define hours or days in your works, it becomes part of your daily life and when you enjoy what you do, nothing like it. On enquiring from Ms. Archan about the uniqueness of her startup, she replied that; Pottery is a very interesting and fundamental art. It is earth, it is water and with fire, it takes on a form of life. With a contemporary touch, Potteryden’srange is widely appreciated for adding beauty and aesthetic appeal to any space. Hence CONFIDENTIAL referred to as Lifestyle Designer Pottery! We believe art needs to be trendy and functional to be alive, not only to be seen but also to be used and felt. On enquiring about how she handles the pressure and manages stress? Ms. Archana apprised that; I try to be organized as much as possible to minimize the pressure or stress. I think advance preparation helps me to get things done on me as planned. But yes there are deadlines to match, client's orders to complete on me and get ready for different events of promotion, etc. My family support plays a big role to get me grounded. Delegation of work helps to relieve you from pressure and sometimes gives you a different approach to look at the situation. How do you generate new ideas? For generating ideas, I do make myself PotteryDen’s first client and also we do take feedback or polls from clients' likings or what categories they are looking for. Normally all the Designs are solely mine so that is my own feelings, and our designs are very much close to nature, seasons, tradition, modern and vibrant as well. On enquiring about how did she came up with the name for her company, she replied that; We were looking for a name that will clearly say what we do and PotteryDen seems to do it very efficiently. What piece of advice would you give to college graduates who want to become entrepreneurs? Entrepreneurship is a big self-driven responsibility. It is like you have to live your vision through every day in small bits and pieces. The best way is to enjoy the experience of creating an entity and see it grow. The most important is to love this journey and not think too much about the destination. Sai Poorna Patnaik Founder Shankar Sahai Co-Founder and Director Bhavini Khakhkhar Founder Dr. Ruchika R. I feel my journey was a roller coaster pushing me always one step closer to my ambitions. Nevertheless, it was satisfying as I accomplished each milestone by clinging to pursue and achieve my aspiration to be a Doctor and Public Health Consultant. I am still somewhere in the beginning of the runway and have a long way to go! Why did you choose to become a Doctor and Public Healthcare Consultant? I believe in having a strong foundation for building our aspirations. Since I eventually want to serve society in the healthcare and administrative domain, so I have laid my foundation as a Doctor and Public Healthcare Consultant. What was your key driving force to become a Doctor and Public Healthcare Consultant? The passion to constantly learn about the human body (anatomy, physiology, pharmacology), healthcare industry, and acquiring the public healthcare management skills and implement it by delivering healthcare services more efficiently, effectively, and equitably for the betterment of the society is my key driving force to be a Doctor and Public Healthcare Consultant. Can you tell us about the diverse domains across healthcare you have worked that have helped you shape overall as a Doctor and Public Healthcare Consultant? Yes, of course! My experiences working in a Government Primary Healthcare Center to Government and Private Tertiary Healthcare facilities in various departments of Allopathy and Ayurveda (includes Panchkarma ) medicines and field visits in several districts of various states of India and meeting key policymakers of the center and state for their expert opinion in the public health care domain has given me a grassroots level of experiences in both clinical and public healthcare domains. What’s your source of motivation? Being constantly aware of my long years of hardships in reaching the place where I am today and the constant desire to achieve my ultimate aspirations keeps motivating me each day with positivity. Also, my parents and close ones constantly motivate me. How do you react to highly stressful situations or deal effectively with personal stress? According to me, the pressure is inevitable but managing stress is optional. One needs to become resilient. I do regular yoga, meditation for my physical and mental health, and well-being which helps to release endorphins in brains which in turn reduces stress. I eat an only home-cooked healthy diet and indulge in dark chocolates sometimes. Sound sleep for 6-7 hours keeps me energetic throughout the day. I try my level best to balance my personal and professional life. Also, the sense of gratitude helps me in highly stressful situations. How many hours a day do you work on average? At an average for 10-11 hours a day. But, there are days when I work for a few hours or take a break. While I was working in Primary Health Care and Tertiary Hospitals, I used to work for 24-36 hours when required. What type of Healthcare Ecosystem do you believe? Strengthening Primary Healthcare in India is of utmost crucial and by having an Integrative Healthcare Systems approach comprising Allopathy and AYUSH. The last person of the society should be able to access quality healthcare at a low cost. Public-Private Partnership at the government level definitely smoothens the process of achieving the Universal Healthcare Coverage. According to you, how has the COVID 19 pandemic changed the healthcare scenario? The COVID 19 pandemic has brought a drastic change in healthcare. It has shifted the Telemedicine from an outliner to a necessity. Although telemedicine is not a substitute for physical examination of the patients, it's beneficial in many ways in case of ailments in the primary stage. Patients need not travel to the healthcare facilities and waste time in long queues just for primary ailments and follow-ups to the doctor. It is also cost-effective for the patients. In case there is a need for Blood Tests and Urine Tests, the lab technician can reach the patient’s home to take samples. So, it's convenient in many ways. Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years? I see myself in the next 5 years, to such a position where I am responsible for contributing to the society however small, but impactful change to bring transformation in the healthcare domain. I wish to be directly or indirectly part of Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) of the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs). What piece of advice would you give to college graduates who want to pursue medical science? Be prepared to face challenges throughout your life. You should build the quality of a learner for a lifetime. Taking up the white-collar job does make you more responsible in serving back to society. There should be stubbornness in taking your work role and implementing it. If you are passionate to be a doctor, you will also have immense satisfaction which is incomparable. Dr. Jha is available for Public Healthcare Consulting, Telemedicine Consulting in General Medicine Allopathy, and Ayurveda. With that objective, this time we introduce Mr. Bhavin Gandhi, a young and energetic personality this time for our readers. Mr.Bhavin Gandhi, Director of Infintrix Global Pvt Ltd started his company InfintrixGlobal after acquiring a lot of work experience in various jobs/positions in Mumbai and Singapore. An IT consultant with big dreams got an opportunity to work in Singapore in the year 2006. Mr. Bhavin Gandhi volunteered at TiE Singapore for undertaking events & that’s when his quest for venturing into the entrepreneurship world started taking shape. It is believed that God gives an opportunity to everyone. Those who accept offers get everything in life and those who miss the opportunity or as is generally said, those who miss the train, wait for the next opportunity. Mr. Bhavin caught the train at the right time and started his own IT Consulting Company “InfintrixGlobal.” The present trend is that most of the IT personnel want to move out of their homeland in search of opportunities for jobs/comforts but Mr. Bhavin didn’t miss the opportunity to work on his own and that too in his home city, Mumbai and he didn’t think much & just jumped on the opportunity. Share this Interview: Know more about Infintrix Global Pvt. Ltd. InfintrixGlobal is a leading Software & Apps Development Company offering comprehensive IT solutions across the globe. InfintrixGlobal offers custom software & app development, website and e-commerce development, IT training, IT consultancy, offshore IT outsourcing, digital marketing, creative design services, IoT & Infrastructure solutions globally. An ISO 9001:2015 certified company with more than 7 years of a strong foothold in Asia & the Middle East. The company also caters to diverse clientele & industries ranging from BFSI, Education, Manufacturing to E/M-Commerce. On inquiring from where did the idea to start something like “InfintrixGlobal” came from and requesting him to tell us about his background and his journey as an entrepreneur, Mr. Bhavin Gandhi apprised that; My background is in IT Consulting; post my first job in Mumbai, I got an opportunity to work in Singapore in 2006, and being a young guy having big dreams, I grabbed the offer. I worked in a job in Singapore until 2010. While I was working, I always wondered how it would be to run my own business. In Singapore, I got in touch with TiE Singapore (The Indus Entrepreneurs) which is a non-profit organization dedicated to entrepreneurship & it has many chapters across the world. I got an opportunity to volunteer at TiE Singapore for undertaking events & that’s when my quest for venturing into the entrepreneurship world really started taking shape. In 2011, while I was still working in Singapore, I got an opportunity to work on a really interesting project in Mumbai & that’s when I decided it was time to come back to India and start my own business and that’s how Infintrix Global Pvt Ltd, my company was born. On inquiring from him about the choosing entrepreneurship over a job, Mr.Bhavin Gandhi apprise that; Well it was not about choosing one over the other. I had a stable and well-paying job in Singapore & a very comfortable lifestyle. It was just that I saw an opportunity to work on my own and that too in my home city, Mumbai and I didn’t think much & just jumped on the opportunity. How do you find the industry/niche that you’re in? My background like I mentioned is in the IT Consulting space especially in the Banking Treasury. So my target clients are banks and financial institutions. I have been working in this industry since I started my job. So there was not really any other industry that I know of or have been working on. Except that now as part of our company offerings and verticals, we do have diversifications across other industries. But if you talk about a niche, Banking Treasury space is my forte. What gets you out of bed in the morning i.e. what’s your source of motivation? I feel my source of motivation is “Technology” which is an amazing thing and the industry that I am in changes rapidly every now and then. Besides this the biggest source of motivation for me is to invent or provide the best technological solutions available so the standard of living/business of my clients, partners, and employees is improved. What challenges/obstacles did you face in your journey so far? Competition is one thing that is part and parcel of any business especially in the kind of business I am in. In any country, there are always people who compete on the basis of price and that really pulls down the whole business dynamics. So that is one challenge that we have to constantly work around with. Another one is of course – attrition. IT as an industry has the highest attrition rates as there are lots of opportunities available in the market. So keeping our people motivated to come every day smiling and work for us is a challenge but we’ve managed to figure that out so far. On inquiring about the uniqueness of his startup, Mr Bhavin Gandhi explains that ; Well technically, we are not a startup anymore. Although we started off as a pureplay IT Treasury Consulting player which is a niche business in itself with very few players providing the kind of service we do. Over the years, we have morphed into a more generic IT Consulting solution provider having different verticals like Bespoke Software Development, IT Infrastructure Consulting, Cloud Consulting, Industrial IoT & Blockchain technology implementation. If you talk about uniqueness, the one thing that stands out for us compared to our competitors is our quality of service & that explains why the 1st client that we started our journey with is still working with us. Stress at work is an increasingly common feature of modern life, however on enquiring from Mr. Bhavin Gandhi about how he handles the pressure and manages stress, he explains that; The pressure is part of any business and invariably you have to manage stress and pressure when you start any business. The biggest remedy to handle pressure is to anticipate it as part of your daily life and not be bothered by it. Although meditation and listening to motivational talks can help you ease out stress. I normally stick to a routine when it comes to my daily schedule which includes exercise, meditation and listening to some motivational / business podcasts which keeps me sane in spite of pressures and stress. On enquiring about the strategy that he believes has helped him grow as a person/startup, Mr. Bhavin Gandhi narrated about the parameters responsible for developing it; Gratitude is something that can always keep you grounded and not let success go into your head. I have practiced and am still practicing gratitude to Almighty, my family, my employees, my clients and partners, and everyone who has given some contribution to my life or my company in any which way. This has been my mantra all along. I truly believe life is all about thanking people and giving back. As they say, what goes around comes around – and I stand by it. In your opinion what are the keys to success? I believe that the keys to success must have three words i.e Humility, Perseverance & Honesty. The Humility to accept that our way may be better, the perseverance with the technique requires dedication and the Honesty which we have in ourselves. On asking Mr. Bhavin what advice would you give to someone starting out as an aspiring entrepreneur? He gave very confident advice that; For aspiring entrepreneurs I would like to say that "Don’t focus on money, it is a by-product". I feel that the Welfare Industry is the need of the hour and has been working day and night for our country especially in times of distress. We at “Ra by Rashi Foundation” have been providing regular amenities to women, children, and old parents in Delhi NCR. Our mental health experts have been hearing and talking to people who have lost jobs. We have partnered with a few HR consultants and life coaches who are helping our members with free training and skill development so that they can restart work. Businessmen have suffered the most so our regular calls to them have been a sigh of relief. Our industry is doing its best but I still feel there is a lack of empathy, hence we are more strong with our ideas of bringing a change to this industry. On inquiring from Ms. Rashi Khanna about her source of Motivation, She replied that; My source of motivation is that one smile, I can give to the one who needs it the most. I aim to provide strength in broken places. My inspiration is my Guru who has helped me to evolve me as a person from the age of 15 years. Being a spiritual woman I feel Love is something that always moves across mountains. People speak a lot but I usually watch their actions when it comes to business and work. My vast experience of this painful world and regular spiritual lessons have helped me in my vision and mission. The universe has chosen me to bring the change & I am passionate about it totally. On inquiring from Ms. Rashi Khanna about the challenges/obstacles she faced in her journey so far, She explains that; My biggest challenge has been "people playing the victim" This one mistake that a woman can make is wasting years of her life waiting for someone else to give her the growth she deserves. I faced questions from families who never let the woman in need to grow her skills, business, and emotions. They never helped them financially to enhance their social network rather mocked and pushed them. This was painful in the initial years. One more challenge that I faced was raising funds. That restricted me many times from doing good to needy as we had limited resources. It is always said that pressure & stress always comes in one's life, On inquiring from Ms. Rashi Khanna, how does she handle the pressure and manage stress? She apprised that; My everyday morning statement "I feel to heal - I have the power over my mind-not outside events. Realize this and you will find strength". My daily regime of meditation(spiritual class), yoga, and talking to my plants are my stress busters. I feel that the more real I am the less pressure I have. I remind myself each moment that I need not fit in the rules to help people, I am meant for that. On inquiring about what is one strategy that she believes has helped her grow as a person/startup? Ms. Rashi Khanna said that; One strategy as a brand and marketing expert that I use for myself is" I share my story to sell more". People connect with stories and that too real empathy stories. No one wants to buy bookish Gyan. Each character has a long story of experience in this difficult world. If one can connect they will stay forever. So I brand my story and trust me it works. I am a middle-aged woman facing many crises and yes, I have messed up many times. I just share the real story. This is hyper empathy for me. This makes me a larger person than this life, and also helps me add value to the cause I am working on. In your opinion what are the keys to success? Ms. Rashi narrates that; My success mantra is not one but I believe that: Real women are never perfect and perfect women are never real. Never leave your childhood friends, they know you the Integrity and conscience go to the grave, keep it Sufferings are real so always be Know the real you like that will get you success: I am born as a giver, less as a taker, so that is my success Listen to your heart always as brains are selfish. It kills the hyper empathy so best to avoid. It is learned that you belong from a Business family. Can you please tell something about yourself also; Maybe I was born to be an empath, Except I realized it later. My failures are my strength. Born in a business family settled in Lucknow, the managing business was in my genes. My parents gave me enough freedom as a child to incubate my own personality. As a trained Bharatnatyam dancer, I finished my 4 levels in classical vocals with many certified art and pottery courses to my forte. As a child, I was always strong-headed and was involved in charity and fundraising initiatives at school & college level. My initial schooling was at La Martiniere girls college, Lucknow, and finished my later years at Army Public school, which gave me a vast culture exposure. As I finished my Post Graduate Diploma in PR from Lucknow University with my thesis in the Terracotta industry, I immediately set up my unit in the village Chinhat, Lucknow. That was the turning point when I realized that I could sell anything due to my humble marketing skills. With Pottery, art as my talents I was able to strategize sales. Exhibited with Lalit Kala Academy regularly to get more exposure. I got married to a businessman in 2000, I was forced to shift my base to Delhi, and had to leave my business back in Lucknow. That is when I realized it wasn't easy to shift business to bigger cities even 20 years back. Things got worse as I got no support and by this time I had my only son in my life. Things looked bleak again as responsibilities grew towards the family. No one understood that I wanted to get back to work. Finally, my business mind started working on lines of setting home-based Chikankari studio at home. It didn't work out though and I decided to take up a job with a wedding planning company. One good thing that I learned early during this phase was that CHANGE is CONSTANT AND ONE HAS TO LEARN TO MAKE THE MOST OF IT ! Till 2014, I was constantly in jobs but finally started working as an Incubator with early learning centers in Delhi. Working as an incubator and consultant who helped in Developing a Brand and Generate sales for early learning centers, helped me grow as a person too. Just to make it more difficult, I got ill with palsy and had to leave everything to be at home. Difficulties always taught me to fight them even harder. That was a turning point. On inquiring from Ms. Rashi Khanna about her selection to become an entrepreneur and not to do the job anymore, She replied that I have been lucky to experience both but I believe in being an empath more than anything else. It gives me a sense of fulfillment. Being an entrepreneur opens multiple avenues for me to give back to society. The Entrepreneur in me didn’t let me settle for less. Once an entrepreneur, always an entrepreneur. Hence I decided to quit jobs for good and start with my own in 2015. As the founder of "Ra Stores," it clicked for me. Back home in Lucknow, our family welfare trust would help women learn embroidery and stitching. I started selling those precious handmade chikankari apparel and accessories. Time was just right when I started exporting Chikankari apparel all over the world. It just clicked... My focus has always been on doing good work and little did I realize that in this world people will always question your turnovers. That is when I wanted to turn the tables. For me as the Founder-TRUSTEE-CHAIR of RA BY RASHI FOUNDATION, my dream project of helping Women facing mid-life crisis came into being. I believe in hyper empathy and always feel deeply about issues. No one ever heard me except my husband, who is one of the trustees of Ra by Rashi foundation. I always questioned what would happen to women who have insensitive husbands and families. What do they do? That reconfirmed my mission all the more. Along with my Store, I got into charity work with different NGOs in Lucknow, Bengaluru & Delhi NCR. I partnered with many NGOs to learn and see how they would operate. One thing I observed is that donations come in but empathy is missing. Very few are willing to go out of their comfort zone to make a life worth living for the needy. Few don't need money, all they need is to be heard and felt. On inquiring from Ms. Rashi about What advice would you give to someone starting out as an aspiring entrepreneur? She apprised that; Education is a must for all aspects. One should be well equipped with all kinds of skills and qualifications to do successful business in 2020. Times have changed and just hiring people to do your job doesn’t work. One needs to be well versed with technology, financial planning PR, strategizing as a package. We at Ra by Rashi Foundation help people develop entrepreneurial skills, mentorship and also help on a sustainable ecosystem. We have special packages for women (mid-life) who want to start their own. We provide Internships to college students who want to learn and experience the role of empaths. It provides buyers with all the ingredients (chopped & processed) customized as per one’s taste with a simple 8 step recipe card. Along with this, Being Chef has built other lines of business like delivery of fully prepared meals, customizable meal boxes, customizable party packs which have helped them in absorbing their fixed cost and generating profit. Tell us a bit about yourself and your journey, please; I was born and brought up in Jaipur and have pursued my engineering from NIT Jaipur. Post that I joined a US-based consulting firm at its Indian office in Gurugram. For the first time in 2013, I left Jaipur and was out of my comfort zone. Initially, living an independent life was fun but soon I realized the challenges with it. I was staying with my friends and we hired a cook to manage our daily meals. After too much effort, we found a good cook but were really disappointed with boring and repetitive meals. Finding a good cook is such a big problem, because of huge demand-supply mismatch, that you are afraid of firing him even if you have to face hassles like frequent offs (without prior information), limited knowledge, etc. We also tried cooking ourselves, but it was so much time consuming that we ended up eating from outside most of the time. This was an unhealthy option but there was no alternative. Also, one thing always bothered me a lot – “ FOOD WASTAGE “. A lot of food gets wasted in the millennial's kitchen (in both raw and prepared format). In a country like India, where more than 15% of the population sleeps hungry every night, this becomes a major concern. So, we started working on a product which could make cooking easy and fun. We did extensive market research and started working on building the product full-time (left the job in 8 months of joining). In March 2014, Being Chef was formed with a product, known as 5 Min. Recipe Kit. Being Chef’s Recipe kit empowers buyers to cook anything in less than five minutes. It provides buyers with all the ingredients (chopped & processed) in exact quantity along with a simple 8 step recipe card. By simply following those 8 steps, one can cook any dish in any cuisine with zero wastage of ingredients. The quantity of cooked food will be as per the no. of persons you have ordered for, thus resulting in zero wastage of raw material(s) and/or cooked food. Quality concerns are also taken care of as buyers can physically see the quality of the ingredients being used for cooking the food. Thus all hassles of managing ingredients, kitchen, pre-processing, etc. are taken care of, thereby resulting in saving your time for near and dear ones. Why did you choose entrepreneurship over the job? Since childhood, I was inclined towards social causes. In school days the pressure of studies doesn't allow you to do a lot and thus I started exploring it properly from my college days. During college, I got involved in multiple initiatives working for the betterment of society, along with my curriculum. I was also lucky enough to get an opportunity to coordinate INDIA AGAINST CORRUPTION movement in Rajasthan. We organized a big rally with more than 70,000 people attending it. I was supposed to address them and I was really nervous. After my speech, I came out as a more confident person with more risk appetite. I also did a few internships during college and realized that a monotonous job in a big company can never be my cup of tea. Initially, I joined the job as I didn't have the conviction for any such big problem that needed to be solved. After moving out of Jaipur, I soon realized that food which is one of the 3 basic necessities, needs proper attention. It's one of the most important yet the most ignored things in our life. And thus I jumped into the boat of entrepreneurship to contribute to this sector to the most possible extent. What gets you out of bed in the morning i.e. what’s your source of motivation? I have learned one thing from my family that life is short and it should be lived with experiences instead of regrets (I wish I should have done - that kind of regrets). So I get up every day with a single thought to live that day as much as I can. This thought boosts my energy up and helps me in keeping going. What challenges/obstacles did you face in your journey so far? Challenges and obstacles are part of every journey, may it be a job or entrepreneurship. I also faced a lot of challenges. I started at the early age of 23. Also, most of the team members were around the same age. Initially, vendors used to take us lightly, but then our work started speaking. Also, I was having zero knowledge of food. Understanding the industry was a little time consuming, but it also helped in innovation in our products, as we used to think with no preconceived notion that " Yeh To Aisa Hi Hote Aaya Hai ". Any accomplishments that motivated you in this journey? It has been an exciting journey of 6 years now. I am glad that our team is intact since the beginning and has shown their integrity and commitment to positively impact as many lives as we can. Because of their efforts, we did accomplish a few things like: Have served 5,00,000+ meals till date. Received the " Transformation of the Year '' award at Amazon SMBhav 2020 (biggest event of SMBs of India) in presence of Mr. Jeff Bezos and many other distinguished personalities. Recognized by the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, Govt. of India. Served lunch and dinner to 17,000+ people in a single day at 5 locations simultaneously. Finalist (out of 20,000+ start-ups from India) of Smart50 competition, which was organized by Govt. of India to find those 50 companies which will transform India. Have 1,00,000 + followers on Facebook even with the operations in just one city. How do you handle the pressure and manage stress? Pressure, stress, etc. comes when you overthink. Ups and downs are part of life, business, and everything you do. So instead of overthinking, if we enjoy the journey and the flow, and boost up the morale, looking at the final goal because of which we started, things get managed on their own. Also, I do practice Yoga and Meditation, and it helps me a lot in balancing my energy. What is that one strategy you believe has helped you grow as a person/start-up? I believe in accepting the mistakes and try avoiding repetition of the same. As human beings, we always make mistakes. Accepting and analyzing them grows you as an individual. In your opinion what is the key to success? I believe that living every day happily is the key to success. What advice would you give to the budding entrepreneurs? Firstly, understand how big the problem is. Don't ride the wave of entrepreneurship because it’s cool. Trust me, it is not that rosy, as it seems. So it’s really important to have a very strong conviction for your own idea. Do proper analysis before entering this wave. And once you enter, just stick to it no matter what. Make changes, adapt as per the market trends along with setting some new trends of your own too, evolve, struggle but stick to what you believe in. To win a game you have to be in the game. Please also talk us through your background and your journey as an entrepreneur; I come from a farmer background where I see my Grandfather, Father, and other people working very hard in their farmland for their livelihood using fertilizers and pesticides to yield more grains which they don’t know about their future consequences. During my traveling to various states and visits to different Organic Farms, I came to know the alternative of using fertilizers and pesticides which keeps our life healthy and most important conserve our Mother Earth. The whole idea of being entrepreneurship came from the rich experience I developed through my Organic journey in Top-notch companies, their operations from farm to fork. Why did you choose entrepreneurship over a job? To be an entrepreneur one day was always there in my mind. But before that, I need to know the depth of knowledge in the functioning of the whole operation and have a chance to interact with interesting people. During the course of time, I realized this job as monotonous and humdrum where I completely found myself at a loose end. So, I planned to drop this 9 to 5 job to give myself more productive time and make my vision more diverse in the field of Organic for the sustainable development of our farmers who are the real winners. What was your key driving force to become an entrepreneur? The farmer background and rich experience in the Organic Journey made my path challenging but more enjoyable and satisfying where I get an opportunity to transfer my knowledge to farmers making them aware about the Organic Farming. What’s your source of motivation? The answer to this question is more or less the same answer as I explained earlier: my inner desire to do something for my farmers and sharing with them my knowledge which I have learned during these years so that they can do justice to their mother Earth by making the land and soil sustainable. How many hours a day do you work on average? Truly speaking I do not believe in quantity but the quality I use to spend in my entrepreneurship journey which gives me immense satisfaction that YES, I am going on the right track. Hours and Hours is being spent on interacting with people and learning from them new skills such as how to fill the lacunae and improve the whole system and make it more affordable to the common people. What is the uniqueness of your startup? Serving with utmost quality to the health loving consumer. Availability of a large variety of affordable products without any intention of high profit-making. Always ready to serve with the best and authentic quality and service. How do you handle the pressure and manage stress? Being an Organic lover, I know the importance of eating healthy foods and feel the strength and vitality of the product which makes me more confident to handle pressure and stress. There are times I come across few customers who find reluctance in buying Organic foods due to its high price without knowing its deep health benefits to his or her family, which I believe is complete insurance to the whole family. Pressure does come sometimes in the availability of products throughout the year which I am keenly working to make it available to the consumer at large. How do you generate new ideas? Rich experience and meeting with new people all over India and abroad keeps me motivated and helps me in learning innovative things to make this whole journey more comfortable and satisfying. How did you come up with the name of your company? As I mentioned previously, I am from a farmer background and 70% of our population depends on agriculture which I believe is the real winner and economic booster of our country Bharat. So, I formed my company as a patriot and salute to our Mother Earth in the name of INDYO ORGANIC , which has given so much to us as its rich biodiversity in the world. What piece of advice would you give to college graduates who want to become entrepreneurs? Believe in yourself. Find your strength weakness, avoid rat race, avoid comparing yourself with others. Every individual has its own unique strength. Believe in your dreams and follow them wholeheartedly. Why did you choose entrepreneurship over a job? I’m very much passionate about learning. Learning should never stop. Many people equate age, status or certain achievements with the end of their education, but to learn is to be alive. I want my ideas to be unconventional. Entrepreneurs are the ones who change the world. They see the world as they want it to be, not how it is. Entrepreneurs are able to contribute the nation for its development & indirectly provide the employment What gets you out of bed in the morning i.e. what’s your source of motivation? Good Question. I would say not just in but at night, it usually happens. am always fond of figuring out something niche or new, which may create a proposition for me and the public at large. I usually keep this mode on all the times and it serves the source of my motivation all the time. By God’s grace, have been able to do that as well, where either has created it or worked on something related to it. Also, I am currently in the process of developing something niche on lines. What is your brand’s USP? Larger scalability and lower transaction fees . How is your brand different from the competitors? Dart is global initiative in blockchain space & uniqueness of Dart is its lightning speed & cost effectiveness compare to other leading blockchains in present scenario. Also, Dart allows business & governments to use blockchain infrastructures and leverage its strength without prior knowledge of distributed system During this COVID-19 crisis, what are the measures you have undertaken to continue your business without disruption? As the business is born during the COVID-19 crisis, each measure is taken to ensure that the model aligns with the challenges of the pandemic. Our business model consists of a lean team which is not resource-heavy and has minimal overheads. The freelancer model ensures each and every work can be handled remotely, where we don’t need to do physical meetings. Every aspect of the business is online and tech-enabled to ensure automation as much as possible. What challenges/obstacles did you face in your journey so far? Every business has risks. Our risks are associated with a right skillset that we look for expansion in future. We already have a core niche team but I see from future expansion perspective, we would need innovative minds, with the flexible thought process. Although, with a clearly defined process, and innovative means to reach out to search resource, we are confident enough that we will mitigate it. What are the three most important lessons you have learned while building your start-up? Be open for new opportunities Look for the potential of tech Hire people who believe in the vision In your opinion, what is the importance of a good team? Teamwork promotes strong working relationships Finally, when employees work together and succeed as a team, they form bonds that can turn into trust and friendship. It's human nature. And it's great for any organisation, since employees who like and trust each other are more likely to: Communicate well with each other. Teams innovate faster Teamwork can create healthy competition What comes first for you - money or emotions? I am an emotional person. Business needs to have emotions, not personal, obviously, but business ones like concern for quality deliverables, client satisfaction, targets & roadmaps, you planned & how you will achieve it, etc. Money is obviously the priority but I believe if your value creation process is right for others, money will automatically come as an outcome of it. How do you handle the pressure and manage stress? I have successfully carried out Pre IPO advisory for a Government undertaking under the supervision of great mentors I have. It was a challenging task as the sector for which we were executing it, was complicated. Even, parallel hired consultants were not that effective as compared to our work and Organisation fired them. But due to the continuous trust of my immediate supervisor in me, I have been able to carry out successfully. What is one strategy that you believe has helped you grow as a person/startup? In my journey so far what has helped me immensely is the lean methodology. In your opinion what are the keys to success? There are a few and you can learn it on your way up. My entrepreneurial journey started with ZERO rupees when I was 18 with high aspirations and big dreams. Due to necessity, I started pitching Websites, Software, Mobile App, and Digital Marketing to local businesses (as a side gig with my day job) to fund my college fees, which later-on become passion and obsession for the digital domain led to the genesis of "Skyracle" in 2013. As an avid reader, I always read books on Business, Personal Development, Marketing, User Experience, Processes, People Management, Cloud and Technology - which becomes a great mentor and best source of learning for me to scale my business significantly. Why did you choose entrepreneurship over a job? I choose entrepreneurship over a job and had the instinct to start something meaningful -- that can create great technological products or services to make the world a better place. How do you find the industry/niche that you’re in? I was the only student who opted for computers in my school days. And I always screwing around and trying hard to find opportunities to make mistakes, so that I could learn new stuff. And doing that I gained a keen interest in computers. Interestingly, without much technical knowledge and help, I started a car and bike blog “Speedster” - which was an amateur blogging site - which I managed to learn from Google baba. What gets you out of bed in the morning i.e. what’s your source of motivation? My source of motivation is 'Inner Happiness' and that urge comes when we do something we love, which is following one's passion. And, of course, my team members who strive hard to make the name of this business. What challenges/obstacles did you face in your journey so far? Building a tech startup without any experience was not an easy task for me especially hiring/managing the team. I did a lot of mistakes in the beginning, did hard work and struggle, but I always decided not to look back and move ahead. Tell us about the uniqueness of your startup, please; We are canvassing dreams of others. We develop Mobile Application, Software, Website, Cloud Services, and Digital Marketing Strategies, which is required by various startups/businesses. Right, from the start we were very sure about two things, one is to have a very employee-friendly organization, and second, we will provide high-class services to our clients. Since then we are having 100% client satisfaction behind the growth that we have achieved in just a few years. How do you handle the pressure and manage stress? Our lifestyle impact on how we react in workplace stress. Therefore, as a morning person, I have made it a habit to engage in outdoor exercise and yoga to keep stress at bay and prefer to stay calm during any kind of stressful situation. Because I believe panicking during stressful situations will never solve the problem. What is one strategy that you believe has helped you grow as a person/startup? Effective communication skills help me to build great working relationships with my clients - which helped me to grow as a person/startup. In your opinion what are the keys to success? Building a positive attitude with consistency is the key to success. As Anthony Robbins said: "It’s not what we do once in a while that shapes our lives. It’s what we do consistently." What advice would you give to someone starting out as an aspiring entrepreneur? I would like you to highlight two things here: First, always hire people smarter then you, so you don’t need to handhold them for every task, and second, if you’ve got a business idea, start it today. There is no better time than now. Because if you keep on planning and planning without execution, it will lead you to nowhere. Idea + Inaction = No Change . Planning is crucial but executing it or taking action is what will get you on to the next level. Where did the idea to start something like this come from? Please also talk us through your background and your journey as an entrepreneur? I read a lot of books, I belong to a small lower middle class family, residing in a small town, Siliguri, West Bengal. After graduation in BCA from Siliguri Institute of Technology, I pursued Digital Marketing course from a renowned institute, after that I started working at an E-Commerce store as a Digital Marketing Intern. Worked there for a year, I always had a craze of starting something of my own. So with lots of struggle, mentorship and a good partner, I finally started my own startup, Macro Webber, a fully fledged Digital Marketing Company here in Siliguri. Initially at the beginning the work started from home, where me and my partner worked Day and night to fulfil our clients need. We were lucky enough as our first client was an International Client. Slowly and steadily, we started getting good exposure and we started getting more and more clients. After a year of starting our business, we finally took the risk to have our own office setup in Siliguri, and now we have a team of 15 employees working for us. Why did you choose entrepreneurship over a job? Well I didn't choose entrepreneurship, it chose me. For me, Daily routine of 9-to-5 lifestyle felt too rigid and restricting. I wanted a life of freedom and flexibility, one that would allow me to do things I like without any limits. I love to work. I am a workaholic, but I have my own way of working. Entrepreneurship requires tremendous amount of hard work. In the beginning you will work long hours for very little pay, you must be truly passionate about your business. It will also give you the opportunity to re-invest most of the money your business makes back into the business. Breaking the corporate mold as a millennial all comes down to two things: putting in the work to establish your expertise and setting yourself apart from the crowd. It wasn’t a complicated process that required climbing mountains after being trained by a guru. It simply came upto figuring out what path could lead to my lifestyle I wanted, and then took the right steps to become an expert. How do you find the industry/niche that you’re in? Well to be honest, I heard the term Digital Marketer in lot of movies, but it never intrigued me. But after graduation, I had choice of pursuing MCA or doing something else, I did some research on latest trends and took the other path and pursued Digital Marketing. What gets you out of bed in the morning i.e. what’s your source of motivation? I never get out of my bed in the morning, I am a nocturnal person. Coming back to my motivation, I love to take new challenges and everyday your life is different as you don't know what's gonna happen next. That vibe keeps me motivated always. What challenges/obstacles did you face in your journey so far? A lot of challenges, initially the first thing I came across were, to make my parents understand the difference of job and entrepreneurship, which I guess they still don't understand. Also, When it comes to money, most startups end up spending too much and exhaust their budget too early and frivolously, or on the other hand, they stay too conservative and end up not expanding at the right pace making them obsolete. And the biggest challenge is coming to the realization that big changes don’t happen overnight. If you see a goal, whether it’s greater fitness, a leaner figure or more strength and conditioning, it may seem far away. Too far away to feel realistic, but you must also realize that big changes can be broken into small, achievable, segments. If you can only manage 10 pushups today, it may seem worthless to do them. What difference can only 10 pushups make? But once you understand that you’re 10 pushups closer to where you want to be, if you manage to take a step, any step forward, you are making progress. And sooner than you may realize, those progress steps start to feel (and look) tangible. Noticeable something you can feel. Build on that. Harness it. Relish it. And don’t beat yourself up if you mess up - because you will. Each day is another chance to start again, if you let it. Tell us about the uniqueness of your startup, please; In a competitive landscape, a key consideration is standing out from the crowd. For startups, this is important because the barriers to entry are relatively low, while new or innovative ideas can quickly be replicated by agile rivals. It means startups needs to discovery how they are unique and different to position the brand and carve out a competitive edge. If this can’t be achieved, then startup can come across as just a me-too product. Being unique or different, however, is not easy. There is so much competition that startups have to be creative, flexible and bold. By doing a competitive analysis, a startup can see the best opportunities to stake a claim on how it different or unique. For us, well we believe in quality over quantity. We may work with less number of clients, but we try providing them a good quality of service. We believe in Value for money. What is one strategy that you believe has helped you grow as a person/startup? I'm very sensitive to the nuances of group dynamics. If there’s an unhealthy amount of stress within the team, I can pick up on some of that stress too. So, what I do is to try to proactively listen to the concerns of the people around me, checking in frequently to see whether they, themselves, are under stress. If they are, I think about how I can help them with their workload so the collective stress of the team doesn’t escalate. When the team’s happy, I’m happy. In your opinion what are the keys to success? In my opinion there are 3 (three) Keys to Success in Life (That You Can Start Doing Now) Write down Your Goals Create a Powerful Belief System Invest in Yourself What advice would you give to someone starting out as an aspiring entrepreneur? I am not exactly a successful entrepreneur, but yeah I can be considered as an aspiring one as well. These are a few quotes that I look up to, these are extracted from different mega successful entrepreneurs. “It takes 20 years to build a reputation and five minutes to ruin it. If you think about that, you’ll do things differently.” -Warren Buffett, Chairman and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway The trust of consumers requires time and effort to nurture slowly, however any mistakes made by your company, might end up in a very undesirable outcome. “Success in business requires training and discipline and hard work. But if you’re not frightened by these things, the opportunities are just as great today as they ever were.” -David Rockefeller, CEO of Chase Manhattan Corporation There are opportunities all around you. If you put in hard work and discipline to really search for such opportunities as well as develop them. You will succeed eventually.
