On inquiring from Ms. Trishla Doshi about the idea to start something like this and her journey as a Womanpreneur, she apprised that; The idea to start to have “the Actuary Intern” came to my mind when I tried to get myself registered in various institutions for an internship while I was doing Graduation in Actuarial Science and my request to become an intern was rejected because I was an undergraduate. I realized that not all students will be lucky enough to secure an internship in their under graduation. At that point in time, I decided to introduce an internship program based on my learnings in the field of Actuary Science. Thus, I founded my startup “The Actuary Intern” and introduced its first Virtual Internship program in Health Insurance. The purpose of this program is to facilitate the students to get an entry-level knowledge required to work in Insurance Companies. I completed my graduation recently in the year 2020 in Actuary Science. I have done an internship at Hdfc Ergo General Insurance and have also completed 2 project internships at KPMG and Deloitte. I am a volunteer at Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA) United Kingdom (UK). My internship at Hdfc Ergo took 8 months of researching companies, applying on company websites, message professionals on LinkedIn. On requesting her, Why did she choose entrepreneurship over a job? Ms. Trishla Doshi explains that; I have always fascinated being an entrepreneur. I used to get ideas while studying which had the potential of being a good business. I knew I had to experience being an entrepreneur at some point in time. The lockdown gave me the opportunity of unlimited time and no distractions to pursue being a Founder. There is no one reason why I became an entrepreneur. I loved the freedom of creativity, no one to answer to, to change things as much as I can, to be truly in charge of something. Ms. Trishla Doshi explained to the question of How she found the industry/niche that she is in? I am in an E-learning space in the Actuarial and Insurance domain. I find the insurance industry to be evergreen and blooming even in this pandemic period. Insurance is something very important and a continuously adapting field. A couple of months after the coronavirus struck us, I came across quite a number of Companies who had introduced Insurance products, especially for coronavirus. So, the main thing necessary for survival in the Insurance domain is the ability of research, Insurance product comparison, and innovation which I have included in my Internship program. What gets you out of bed in the morning i.e. what’s your source of motivation? My main motto is to keep working until I do not have to introduce myself. I wake up each morning thinking about the problem I am facing on my business, the desire to just wake up and solve that problem before the day ends. The problems get me out of my bed in the morning. On inquiring from Ms. Trishla Doshi about the challenges/obstacles she faced in her journey so far, She explains that; So far, I have faced numerous problems most of which are the result of the coronavirus lockdown. I find it difficult to work from home, it’s difficult to distinguish my working and my personal space. Additionally, I am facing payment integration problems because the customer support of the payment gateway I am using has reduced significantly. I had to record videos for my program which I had a lot of problems with screen sharing software as I had no prior experience with it. But I am trying to solve one problem at a time. On inquiring about the uniqueness of her startup "The Actuary Intern", Ms. Trishla Doshi explained that; My start up combines the learnings of a course and includes practical projects to mimic an internship. It’s a combination of an internship and a course. It's a virtual program meaning you can complete it at home, at school or anywhere remote. You earn an Internship certificate. This program can be completed at your own pace, no strict deadlines, instantly generated certificate. There is no selection procedure so anyone willing to learn can start this program. There are on pre requisites because any knowledge is taught in the program itself, and projects test that knowledge. On inquiring, how does she handle the pressure and manage stress? Ms Trishla replied that; I take a break to handle stress. When it becomes unbearable, I just take a half hour break from social media and take a nap. I get up with a solution and a freshness to continue my work. What is one strategy that you believe has helped you grow as a person/startup? People from my industry know me. I started posting on the hashtag I created: #actuarialfact since October 2019. At present, the hashtag has more than 800 followers. People have trusted me with their queries and I have mentored over 100 people through LinkedIn. Helping people has given me a sense of accomplishment and I feel that is the one strategy that I believe has helped me to grow. In your opinion what are the keys to success? I feel my key to success is to never quit. Every problem has a solution. We just have to keep our cool and work till the problem is solved. Also, it's ok to take breaks, we are humans, after all. What advice would you give to someone starting out as an aspiring entrepreneur? First, create an audience on social media. The key to become a successful entrepreneur is 02(two) things, people must trust you to solve their problems and you must add value to them. Tell us a little bit about yourself (background) and your journey as an entrepreneur, please. Greetings, I'm Bhavini Khakhkhar, founder of Lely's - the beauty brand that is just right for you! I believe that success is a matter of defying expectations, overcoming obstacles, and creating opportunities that might not otherwise exist. Why did you choose entrepreneurship over a job? When I was a teenager, I was smitten by beautiful cosmetics and make-up. I watched ads that lured me to purchase beautiful cosmetics - and when I purchased them, the results were not what I had hoped for. This might be happening with most of the buyers of cosmetics I believe. My first turning point was at that time – and that was the time when I promised myself to build the best cosmetic-products line in India which will not only stand true to the expectations of the buyer but also shows the result after its use. What gets you out of bed in the morning i.e. what’s your source of motivation? Regarding my source of motivation, I feel every morning, the first thing I do is thank God for giving me another beautiful day. I make sure that I utilize the awarded day with my full potential and energy to bring a smile to my people’s faces. I usually decide my big goals to be achieved soon and divide them into small goals, daily goals to achieve the desired objectives. Every morning I wake up with a particular goal in my mind to be achieved. I even get excited about each small task and when at the end of the day, when that is being achieved, I feel a sense of completeness. I usually make sure that my goals should not be piled up and remain unachieved. What comes first for you - money or emotions? The feelings of satisfaction, joy, pride, or triumph that come from accomplishing something are very important to most of us. But, for me, emotions always come first in my personal life while I always choose to work hard for financial growth for my business. How do you handle the pressure and manage stress? To ease the pressure which comes to my mind by I spending some time talking to myself asking certain questions like – how much important is it in my life/business? What could be the best way to get things done? What if I choose the other way? I set priorities according to the demand to manage the stress whichever comes in me. I visualize the outcome I will get once I achieve the goal. I discuss it with my team members and ask their opinion and support to overcome the pressure. We celebrate small victories and reward ourselves to get going for the next goal. What is one strategy that you believe has helped you grow as a person/start-up? I believe that helped me grow as a start-up as I have been greatly benefited by my ethics and values throughout my life. I also believe it is very important to adhere to good ethics. Most of the time I have experienced that when you have good values, you will always be involved in good deeds. By eliminating behaviours that do not conform to my sense of right and wrong, ethical values like honesty, excellence, and ownership helped me deal more effectively. In your opinion what are the keys to success? earning is an essential part of my life and I believe that is the key to my success. Information and continued learning nourish my mind just as food nourished my body. I believe each career and organization should make lifelong learning an integral part of their activities. What advice would you give to someone starting out as an aspiring entrepreneur? I believe every team-building exercise is intended to make employees stronger as a unit. The stronger the team the stronger the organization. I had personally witnessed the impact of this approach on employee productivity, employee motivation, collaboration, and building trust and respect between them. Every day, every moment there are challenges. These challenges have kept me thinking on looking for breakthrough ways in marketing, promotions, product development, partnerships and every part of the the journey every day. What do you find most challenging about being an entrepreneur? Evaluating the right value and returns for each money you spend. When you are bootstrapped, the best thing that happens is that it teaches you to be frugal in spending. The growth becomes slow, but you tend start thinking that you want to be profitable first. And this is the most challenging and most loving part of it all. How is your brand different from the competitors? The freelancer model ensures each and every work can be handled remotely, where we don’t need to do physical meetings. What makes an entrepreneur successful? We think an entrepreneur journey is always an interesting path. A successful entrepreneur needs to be a continuous learner and has to have an ability to think out of the box, think how to make Profit while making any decision and be solution oriented at every stage. In your opinion, what is the importance of a good team? A good team is the one which takes ownership in the complete task. Taking ownership is an important part, as the team then start suggesting ways to improve user experience and features. This way the team gets aligned with the company goals. How do you plan for your business's future? We want Gamethon to be among the top 5 fantasy sports apps in India. In your opinion what are the keys to success? There are a few and you can learn it on your way up. As long as you have growth mind set it is not a problem. What marketing tactics do you find most effective for reaching new customers? Today is the digital life and most of the customer are hooked digitally, so using digital marketing to reach out to your audience is the most effective tactics for reaching the new customers. Who do you look toward for advice? The best advice I can get is from the competitors moves and the customers and my partners. The advice is just as guide to help you take decisions at the end of the day. It is the entrepreneur who has to take the right decision. How do you define success as an entrepreneur? An entrepreneur is successful when all are happy. The customers, the investors, the owners, the partners, the employees and the business is profitable and the market regards you as one of the top brands, that is success for an entrepreneur. What has been your most significant achievement? The development of the 2 USPs, Team provider exchange and MVP contest. These are the 2 features which no fantasy app has. Fantasy sports has been around for some time in India and no one has tried to solve that problem and we have finally done it. What advice would you give to someone starting out as an aspiring entrepreneur? We always work on a tag line ‘add value to get value’. To know more about the company kindly Visit Website . Where did the idea to start something like this come from? Please also talk us through your background and your journey as an entrepreneur. The idea to start something like this venture came in my mind during March 2020 while in lockdown when world has seen most people losing their jobs and businesses were getting closed. The idea behind starting this was to boost the economy of the small and domestic craftsmen or manufacturers who were proceeding towards the closure as the world was going to standstill with unlimited period keeping in view the seriousness of the Covid 19 situation around the world. Since there are very limited resources for small businessmen and especially the craftsmen, the thought came in mind to help them buy starting an e-commerce platform where people can buy and sell things from online portal by remaining indoors. Since I was pursuing my studies and living in Canada at that time and as an international student it was hard like probably not possible to develop business in Canada, but the idea was appealing to me and I was determined to start at the earliest. I made my mind to start it from India our own country which is always open for their citizens and got one more concept to focus for the time being on selling “Make in India” products on our e-commerce platform where our Indian small as well as big manufacturer gets chance to grow and explore their business. Why did you choose entrepreneurship over a job? Since I was pursuing my studies in Canada, but due to the covid situation no one was aware that the situations are going to be so bad and the world is going to standstill. Doing job was not in my mind as I was inclined towards establishing business and becoming one day and entrepreneur to help the small businessmen to give an online platform to sell their products. What was your key driving force to become an entrepreneur? My self determination to help small businessmen who do not have digital marketing space to sell their products was my key driving force to become an entrepreneur. It was hard for me to startup things from Canada as things were going to happen in India. Interaction with the small businessmen was the main concern and while remaining in Canada it was virtually going hard initially but I managed to handle things for first 2 months single handed with the blessings and help of my parents. Things were developing in fast pace and I need a team, so I started putting up Advertisement on job portals. After almost one month, I got one female candidate, UK born Indian lady named as “Ms Payal Patel” living in India. She is the Head of operation of my team at present and she has over 18 years of experience in operation field working with UK government as well. Me from Canada and she from India started managing things in proper manner which were not in organized manner before and then as per requirements we had to get two more candidates without having any initial investments. What’s your source of motivation? My source of motivation is myself confident to help the small businessmen who are struggling to sell their products despite best in their product type. To implement my vision to become an entrepreneur I used to drive Uber for almost 10-12 hrs per day to earn and pay salary to employees. I started searching for investor and with one to two pitch I got one investor with that I got to explore the team as it was pretty hard to get vendors onboard, at present I have team of 8 experienced people who are leading the idea, now to manage and organize the things it was pretty hard to do it from Canada, so I came to India in November 2020 and completed the legal things forming Pvt Ltd company, and launched the venture on 22nd January 2021. We have enough of investment for few more months so still looking for more investment to make this “Make in India” concept a Brand and provide the Make in India products in foreign countries as well. Initially I was just having one segment of simple multi-vendor e-commerce platform, but with the exploration of team I got many more different segments which are problem solving for everyone for govt, for businesses, for people and can also help businesses grow and get chance to explore their product in foreign countries. My journey to reach this level is indeed my source of motivation for the time being. How many hours a day do you work on average? Since I am in the implementing stage of my venture and working hours a day do not matters to me. I am working round the clock to make my venture a successful so as my team of personnel who are working with me are also with me in materialising the things in write directions. What is the uniqueness of your startup? My startup “DamaCas” is an E-commerce marketplace which showcases products which are only made in India. We offer a platform for small and medium businesses to reach an audience to sell their items on a B2C platform with no additional charges. We are empowering people to come onto the DamaCas platform, even for those suppliers who have never thought of showcasing their products online. We are solving several problems like some marketplaces having inadequate technology, poor customer experiences, lock of global applicability and a lack of structured logistics processes. We aim to branch out into many other verticals once we have established a strong backbone in the B2C market in India. This includes expanding the portal to other countries, exporting Indian goods, promoting NGO’s and their products, encouraging local artisans to sell online, having a B2B segment and advanced technological solutions in E-commerce. Our unique Segments are: B2C concept of “Make in India.” “Collaborating with NGOs who does the production where people get employment with the growth of their product”, We are also showcasing handicraft products on our portal, “We are also bringing unique segment that is “Delivery segment” where people can buy online from any local shop in the city and we can the thing delivered within few hours, “We are also integrating service provider segment where every service provider can get register and provide the service to their clients.” How do you handle the pressure and manage stress? Step back and put the problem in perspective, list some solutions to the problems and come up with a plan is my way of managing stress and easing pressure. How did you come up with the name for your company? It was actually not so simple for me to choose the name initially, first to just start the things i gave the name sampzkart.com, but it was not suitable at all globally or at any level, i got to took almost 2 months to prepare the name, but at last it got simple i choose initial letters of my family i.e D stants for Dilip(father) A in between always stands for “And” M stands for “Manisha” (mother) C stands for “_Chiku” _ (My Late sister) and at last S stands for “Samip” (Thats ME)__Damacas also refers to something else in terms of brand i.e “Do Admire Multi-branded Aesthetic Channel for All Shopoholic” “DamaCas”. What piece of advice would you give to college graduates who want to become entrepreneurs? The only piece of advice I would like to give to the college graduates who want to become entrepreneurs is to listen to your field interest and find the possibility of becoming a successful person to serve the humanity and to earn with positive ways of development. It was the point at which series of small changes emerged and he knew that he didn't want his boss's job, any of the other senior management roles, or to work between 12 to 14 hours a day. Dr. Siddhartha also knew he didn't want to sacrifice his quality of life, and regret not living. I have headed the CII (Eastern Region) and also been an active member of Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC), Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industries (BCC&I), and Merchants’ Chamber of Commerce (MCC) and also a member of WORLD HRD Congress. I am a regular playwright in Times, Various Social Sites, Magazines, LinkedIn, and a social activist too, plus a winner of many HR leader awards”. He further narrates that, there's no "magic pill" that effortlessly launches you out of your cubicle confinement and into the free world of entrepreneurship. For some, the dream to be your own boss grows for a long time, even years, before it finally comes to fruition. "After a successful corporate career in a Fortune 500 company, the tipping point came where my inner instinct led me to redefine life and the impact I want to create. I knew that I didn't want my boss's job, any of the other senior management roles, or to work between 12 to 14 hours a day. I also knew I didn't want to sacrifice my quality of life, and regret not living. "That's when I decided to start my business. I brainstormed which skills I could build upon, and what people needed. On requesting him, why did he choose entrepreneurship over a job? he explains that; Being an entrepreneur means taking on a challenge and working hard to get through it. “Getting a new career or building a business is never easy, and not everybody will support you in your journey. With any business venture, it takes a while to gain the knowledge, establish you as a business owner, and gain the reputation to attract the clients. “It can be a long process and it may take time to get significant ROI but to be honest with you, the results are worth the struggle. Feeling like getting just stuck in a box and feeling just like a number being in a top management job was making a straight line. Being an entrepreneur one can have many advantages too like you have the opportunity to change the lives of others, you serve as a role model, creating something from nothing, no career hamster wheel. On inquiring about what gets him out of bed in the morning i.e. what’s his source of motivation ?, Dr.Siddhartha explains that ; The Source of motivation is to think that “Remember why I started”, it is not money or the experiences but it is to earn a taste of fame along the way and what I might leave behind should be appreciated because if I create something meaningful that’s going to outlast. The satisfaction is saying, this is my company and with this I will never hit a growth ceiling. I don’t know if it’s a lack of confidence or something else but you always want to prove yourself, you’re never quite satisfied – and that might express itself in being very competitive. You just want to do your own thing and are prepared to take huge risks to do it. Someone works for money and some work for his emotions attached to him, but on inquiring about that, what comes first for him - money or emotions? Dr. Siddhartha explains; “There is no secret that emotion always plays a vital role in human life. Entrepreneurship might seem like a glamorous career choice; and in many ways, it is. However, this independent path can have its downsides. Working alone, or representing your own brand, are a major responsibility and many entrepreneurs face emotional challenges, from loneliness to fear. So every time we have to control those emotions and overcome those with flying colors. When we start an idea it was well planned so the money will routinely come if there is a quality-driven business”. On inquiring about his way of handling the pressure and managing stress, Dr. Siddhartha Pandey explains that; “I will say there is no exact science to handle a pressure or stress, few points I can consider to manage the same like break down the problem into the task it will ease out to tackle the same, schedule time for socializing, give time to family, biking with friends, spent time in exercise or yoga or meditation. Try to think of stress as energy. Energy which we can use to propel our business to success. Minimizing stress by staying productive and keeping on top of your work is hugely important. If you struggle to keep focused try a productivity app to keep your motivation up”. What is one strategy that you believe has helped you grow as a person/startup? Most of the advice and success stories for start-ups feel very vague, vapid, and in actionable, If you don’t have a tangible plan, you’re actually losing business -- or you’re increasing the chance of losing business to competitors. One strategy will not suffice a business success but yes technology is playing a major role to run a business like in the time of the pandemic. The value proposition of a business will always be an added advantage. On inquiring about his opinion about “the keys to success”, he explains that ; Passion is a simple yet profoundly all-encompassing narrative to describe the essence of a true entrepreneur. With passion, an entrepreneur possesses an inherent fuel and inexhaustible stamina that constantly drives his actions forward. Impetus and self-confidence also play a vital role in a tenacious entrepreneur – one who can dream of the unreal, and work relentlessly to convert it into a reality. What advice would you give to someone starting out as an aspiring entrepreneur? Entrepreneurship is very challenging, you are going to get hit and knocked down. Learning to take the punches and continuing to get up turns you into a stronger business owner and individual. Challenge yourself and be competitive with yourself, value your work, utilize the power of manifestation. Today, entrepreneurs can push beyond the clichés and their limits to develop businesses that add value to clients – and that adds meaning to entrepreneurs’ lives. InfoIvy.com is now solely focused on working with corporates to impart a real-world edge to how they approach customer success. We believe we can make a significant difference and help companies to retain customers and grow to upsell revenue from their existing customer base. The Covid pandemic hit us all just a few months after we launched. This forced us to put some of our plans on pause but now that conditions are returning to normal and we are pushing hard to recover the lost time. We see great things in store for us in the coming months and years. Tell us a little bit about yourself (background) and your journey as an entrepreneur, please; I have worked in the technology and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) industry for some years and was fortunate enough to successfully co-found two startups - the first one provided solutions to the SMB market for instant messaging and VoIP over the internet, and the second one focussed on marketing data aggregation and analytics. For some years I have run a very successful blog focussed on the application of big data and data science in the field of customer success and creating a better customer experience. This path led me naturally to consider the rapidly expanding field of customer success for my third startup - InfoIvy. I felt that I needed to contribute to the younger generation and offer coaching and mentorship services to the many newcomers that join the industry as customer success managers or relationship managers. As well as coach current CSMs and other customer success and support professionals to grow their careers into more of a leadership and management role. I would like to invite the reader who may wish to know more about me personally to visit my online page . And would also like to invite the readers to connect with me on Twitter . Why did you choose entrepreneurship over a job? Growing up in a middle-class family, becoming an entrepreneur was not something I thought about or even dreamt of. Yet, I guess I probably always had a desire to build something new in me. And with some encouragement from family and friends, I was able to channel that creativity into multiple new ventures. But do not get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with having a corporate career. In fact, in many ways the experience learned during those years helps you become an entrepreneur. What gets you out of bed in the morning i.e. what’s your source of motivation? In short - my source of motivation is working with and learning about new people. I am fuelled by my passion for navigating the nuances of how different personality types impact our professional interactions and can make all the difference between failure and success. This is seen often by the customer-facing teams. And very few know how to reach these nuances and more importantly how to react to them. I consider myself a lifelong learner, eager to both build on my experience and stay in tune with the latest research on customer personas and profile creation along with customer relationship management and success strategies. At InfoIvy, we want our customers to trust us to advise, coach, and educate their teams when they need to reduce churn, increase adoption and drive more renewals. During this COVID-19 crisis, what are the measures you have undertaken to continue your business without disruption? We have had to make a few changes to our initial business model but since much of it can be easily moved online, we did not have to face the brunt of the restrictions to travel and movement of personnel during the last 2 years or so. What challenges/obstacles did you face in your journey so far? The biggest challenge is the limitation of our imagination and biases. And this manifests itself in sometimes imaginary obstacles that seem very real. The continuous challenge is to keep aside your own preconceived notions and look at the things with a fresh set of eyes and let the world around you tell you what it needs. This might seem very philosophical but it's actually not. Since the world talks to you in a simple language. And it is the language of data. Data is the new oil or lithium - depending on who you talk to. But, if one can train oneself to look at the data objectively, rest falls in place. What comes first for you - money or emotions? For me passion always has to come first. Once you feel passionate about something you can start looking at numbers, business models, money, cash flow etc. Many times, it might turn out that the passion might only rise to the level of a hobby since it might not be possible to make money with it. Some tweaks or changes might be needed. But passion has to come first. How do you handle the pressure and manage stress? I have my family and friends to support me. So, if the stress gets to be too much, I just take a break from it - even if it is for an hour or so and talk and connect with my friends and family. But, since InfoIvy is my third startup, I feel I have a good handle on stress :) What is one strategy that you believe has helped you grow as a person/ startup? The strategy I believe has helped me grow as a person is that one should know his limitations, Know his strengths as well. Besides this do not chew more than you can handle. As long as you can keep your head above water, you can keep growing and continue in your lifelong learning journey. In your opinion, what are the keys to success? I believe that the following keys can work for anyone’s success. Since it worked for me and I believe it can work for you as well. Build high self-esteem Believe in yourself, have confidence, like and feel good about yourself, and take pride in what you do. Most of the time the harder thing to do is the right thing to do. So, do not fall to the temptation of taking the easy way out or as they say - the path of least resistance. Focus with a positive attitude. Always expect the best possible outcome for what you do. Your thoughts drive your actions. Positive thoughts lead to positive actions. And positive actions result in positive results. Set powerful goals Give your brain a place to aim. Set goals so that you can reach them. When you do, reach a little higher. Do not let others dictate what you can and cannot do. Only you decide that. Having detractors is a good thing. They remind you of why you need to focus on your goals. Persevere Never quit. Never give up. Keep going and keep trying. Based on various factors, adjust your speed accordingly but keep moving forward and sometimes that might be more like inching your way forward but that’s OK too. Maintain a healthy mind, body, and spirit Take care of yourself through a healthy diet, exercise, and say no to drugs. Taking some time off is a good thing. Your mind or your body is not a machine. They both deserve to rest. What advice would you give to someone starting as an aspiring entrepreneur? Advice for young entrepreneurs is often so generic because everyone operates under different circumstances and in different markets. There is no universal recipe for success. But there are aspects of running a business that many young startup owners miss out on, or don’t pay enough attention to. Or hesitate to try in practice. Know this, when you are starting as an entrepreneur, you will inevitably make mistakes. They will cost you lots of money and lose revenue and even deprive you of sleep. But do not stop learning from your mistakes. Making mistakes is a good thing. If you are not making any mistakes, it can only mean 2 things. 1) You are moving too slow, or 2) you are not taking enough risks. Both are more deadly to a young startup than the mistake itself. • Interview with Parth Birendra & Sahil Chopra, of HappyNature

In less than two years, school pals Parth Birendra and Sahil Chopra have delivered a fundamental grass-to-glass concept that has redefined the humble milk round in Delhi NCR < All Interviews Parth Birendra & Sahil Chopra Entrepreneur We as VictoryTales team keep scrolling for more and more meaningful and powerful stories from around the world to empower and motivate our growing community of entrepreneurs, this time we are introducing two school friends Parth Birendra and Sahil Chopra who happily drove us to drink more fresh milk-naturally. In less than two years, school pals Parth Birendra and Sahil Chopra have delivered a fundamental grass-to-glass concept that has redefined the humble milk round in Delhi NCR - and quenched families' demands for farm-fresh, natural milk. Share this Interview: Know more about HappyNature How School Friends Happily Drove Us to Drink More Fresh Milk - Naturally! How School Friends Happily Drove Us to Drink More Fresh Milk - Naturally! From delivering just ~20 liters of milk to their neighborhood apartment block on their first day of operations, the Happy Nature entrepreneurs now oversee a farm-fresh foods brand that delivers 2000 liters of milk equivalent through their dairy and non-dairy products daily to customers’ doorsteps. Their brand is now recognized as a significant player in the premium milk industry in the city. At the heart of the Happy Nature brand is a serious commitment towards quality of products & service through a strong focus on the entire value chain - From production to processing and finally to delivery – best quality standards and hygiene are maintained across all touch-points. While milk continues to be their anchor product, they have expanded their product-base by adding other dairy products (ghee, paneer, and cheese) and non-dairy essentials such as artisan bread, premium eggs, natural honey and hydroponic salad leaves to their portfolio. All products are healthy, natural, and free from harmful chemicals & adulteration. "We have moved rapidly from when we first set up in October 2018, and now have an annual turnover of about 5 Cr," commented Parth, who with Sahil, is an alumni of Don Bosco School, Delhi. Both are Engineers and MBAs - Parth from AIM, Manila, and Sahil from DCE, Delhi & XLRI Jamshedpur. With one of the few integrated delivery companies of milk and associated fresh products in New Delhi, the company has attracted additional investments. It has since merged with Doozy Farms in Chandigarh and Wise Cow, in Gurgaon, to offer a complete Delhi NCR region-wide presence. It's a far cry from when Parth and Sahil first began to exchange business ideas in one of their regular weekly calls while working in different parts of the world as management consultants. "Our conversations revolved around new business opportunities that existed in the Indian market. The fact that we were traveling extensively over the last five years gave us a perspective on how and which industries were growing globally and where these opportunities could fit within the Indian business landscape," highlighted Sahil. Discussions narrowed down to farm-fresh, healthy food products. Parth added: "We realized no single company in the food space was catering to the various breakfast table requirements. Consumers had to buy from multiple vendors and various brands to complete their breakfast basket. That's where our opportunity lay." Having both worked as corporate strategy consultants, they gained unique insights and experience into the global world of sales and operations strategy. They were joined by Vishal Rastogi, at Happy Nature as a company director, and crucially with significant experience in the dairy industry. He also had a strong IT background with an engineering degree from IIT Roorkee and MBA from IIFT, Delhi. The team began small and local - experimenting in their hometown! "We began with farm-fresh cow's milk as our first product before expanding into other products, with the same commitment of serving the purest, freshest and healthiest food products available," Sahil said. The entrepreneurs have also witnessed and served at every level of the business, including getting up at 4 am to personally manage and handle doorstep deliveries. "Having those foundation stones set right enabled us to build a strong and stable business structure for the future," added Parth. Those early steps included raising their milk supplies to 200 litres daily within 4 months of starting operations, all thanks to them relentlessly attending every Diwali Mela and Christmas carnival in and around South Delhi. Sahil added: "Sitting on a stagnant volume was unacceptable and experiencing a drop-off in orders during summer months was quite unexpected & demotivating for a 6-month-old startup despite the fact that this pattern is inherent to such a business. We worked extra hard going door-to-door, expanding our coverage while keeping a check on our expenses to ensure that we kept growing. "Come December; we were at 500 litres daily, including milk and products, before hitting 2000 litres a day in June 2020." Highlighting how they strive to set themselves apart from competitors, Sahil highlighted that our focus on not just product quality but also premium packaging, efficient delivery, and relentless focus on customer service is what sets us apart. Parth added that having the best-in-class facilities at the dairy farm was crucial to serving customers the best product in the market and differentiating our product from the commercially available milk brands: "Our cows are provided with the best health care facilities with regular check-ups performed by certified veterinary doctors. Any cow which falls sick is separated from the herd and provided specialized treatment. Milk from only the healthy cows is supplied to consumers." The hi-tech milking process involves automated milking, in-line pasteurization, and touch-free packaging eliminating human interference and the risk of adulteration. Daily lab tests further reinforce the commitment to providing 100% pure and natural milk. With the elimination of middlemen and with a robust cold chain that ensures the milk is delivered in the healthiest possible form within a few hours of milk production, Vishal said. Their in-house forecasting tools and methodologies also help to predict demand for milk accurately and accordingly plan for timely farm expansions. Parth commented : "Our startup is unique because we are the only doorstep delivery model company which serves such a wide variety of essential food products under one brand while maintaining the best possible standards of product quality, delivery service, and customer care”. "Our strong focus on a " customer-first " strategy ensures not just excellent service but also offers insights on future services and products that we can launch to make their lives even more convenient.", said Sahil All three then concluded: "Every day, we at Happy Nature endeavor to provide families with the healthiest, tastiest and freshest food products produced in cruelty–free, hygienic and modern facilities. With each product, we win your trust which encourages us to keep getting better" Meghna Joshi Founder & CEO Sai Poorna Patnaik Founder Shankar Sahai Co-Founder and Director Bhavini Khakhkhar Founder Dr. Ruchika R. It has been an amazing journey so far and we all are devoted our best efforts to contribute for our clients. Why did you choose entrepreneurship over a job? The main reason to choose entrepreneurship over a job is that I realized overtime while working in MNC that a corporate career is not going to make me happy. Since I was constantly remained in touch with my friends who later became my business partners and hence the journey of our business started. Now we have reached the stage where we all are contributing for betterment of our business with the same goal. What gets you out of bed in the morning i.e. what’s your source of motivation? I have always been a very curious person and the curiosity within me helps me to explore me more besides passion helps me to work harder. So, my Passion and Curiosity are the two things which I think drives me the whole day is my source of motivation. During this COVID-19 crisis, what are the measures you have undertaken to continue your business without disruption? As we are in the business of designing presentations, during COVID-19; most of the professionals started working from home and started using various video conferencing tools for the meetings. But the need for presentations was always there, only difference is the shift of conference room presentations to video conference presentations. Luckily, our business was not affected due to COVID-19. Like every other IT company, work from our home has been part of our company culture now which resulted in continuous work without any hinderance. What challenges/obstacles did you face in your journey so far? Like every other online business which is dependent on traffic from Google; we had some ups and downs in our Google ranking which resulted in lower traffic few times in last couple of years. We conquered every time we were affected by Google Updates. We are constantly working on our content and design quality in order to have lifetime of customers. Apart from this, finding the right talent is a challenge every organization faces and we too faced the challenge in our journey so far and we came out of ever challenge with our ability to handle such in positive evolution. What comes first for you - money or emotions? I think it’s a mix of both money and emotions, but I think I will give priority to emotions as I am an emotional guy. In your opinion what are the keys to success? In my opinion, my key to success is my focus towards my target and passion for my work. What is one strategy that you believe has helped you grow as a person/start-up? I think one strategy that I believe has helped me grow as a person is my Passion which drives me to work harder and push my own limits to the new heights and you know reaching to the new heights gives you entire satisfaction. How do you handle the pressure and manage stress? I believe Pressure and stress are very important part of professional life and good pressure like an upcoming deadline helps me to stay motivated and productive. Of course, there are times when too much pressure can lead to stress. However, I'm very fortunate to have great business partners, this prevents me from feeling overly stressed as we collectively overcome from any Pressure or stress which come in our way. What advice would you give to someone starting out as an aspiring entrepreneur? My job experience makes me aware of my potential towards my work but I need flexibility in it which can come through only when I drive that work independently where I can take risks as well as any decision for better results. In a job you bond to do work according to your employers, so your work results sometimes haven't been that fruitful as you expected. This is the main force that makes me an entrepreneur and so I give wings to my work. On enquiring about his source of motivation, Mr Shankar apprised that; My dream, aspiration and passion for my work keeps me motivated. Every day I set a new goal for this company and work on it which keeps me going. It is important to surround yourself with positive people who keep you spurred and offer you constructive criticism which in turn boosts your morale. On enquiring How many hours a day do you work on average? He recounts that; I would say if you love your work and follow your passion then hours do not matter, you enjoy every bit of time. Discipline and life beyond work also play an important role, so keeping that in mind I usually work 10 hrs a day and sometimes more if required. Here I would like to thank my wife who has been my constant support system, without her support I’m unable to do so for which I am grateful. On enquiring about the uniqueness of his company “SoftPrime Technologies Pvt Ltd”? Shankar Sahai specified that; My company is unique because here we allow our employees to give honest feedback which we try to implement as effectively as possible. We thrive to create a positive work environment for our employees. They have the freedom to take any work-related decisions for the betterment of the company. We also have flexible work hours. As per my past job experiences whatever shortcomings I felt were there I tried not to repeat it here. On enquiring how important is a good team for a successful organisation? He delineated that; I believe that for any organisation a good team plays a vital role in company’s success. It’s important for a leader to have immense belief in himself and in the team, whether it is a normal day or during the adversities. I also believe that “Great things in business are never done by one person. They are done by a team of people.” On enquiring how he handles the pressure and manages stress? He delineated that; When you decide to do something different in your chosen field you are automatically ready to handle all kinds of stress and pressure. My mantra is to convert this stress into a driving force to accomplish new heights. On asking how he generates new ideas? Shankar Sahai particularize that; To deal with problems on a day to day basis and finding solutions to these issues itself generate ideas and that’s how the idea cycle goes on. When I was in a job, I was responsible for a certain kind of work but it is a completely different case when it comes to being an entrepreneur as it involves looking over all the functions/departments of the company. There are a lot of opportunities to generate new ideas in almost all the fields required to run a successful organisation. On enquiring about how he came up with the name for his company? Shankar Sahai apprised that; I wanted a name which is a synonym of best software solutions. Since ‘Soft’ refers to software and ‘Prime’ refers to premium/best. I had an epiphany to keep the name SoftPrime Technologies and that's how this company got its name. On asking him what piece of advice would he give to college graduates who wanted to become entrepreneurs? Shankar Sahai said that: My only advice to them is to chase your dream and follow your passion. Whatever field you have chosen, Art, Science or Commerce, just try to learn beyond academics also. Academics is important for good marks but to understand the subject is important for good knowledge. Good knowledge will help further in achieving your goal. Entrepreneurship is a big responsibility which comes with many risks so before plunging into entrepreneurship be prepared for it. I believe in one simple mantra of life i.e. the plan should be good, and the execution should be better then you will definitely get the best result.
